@sebwildblood invites @sistersofsoundsos co-founder @maddymaia to mark her debut solo EP on @allmythoughts - an introspective two-tracker for the dancefloor, fuelled by her journey through a challenging music industry. The record's b-side, 'Fembot Fashion', is a simplistic four-four slammer featuring the producer's own vocals.

“A lot of emotion has come out in these tracks. I made 'Fembot Fashion' when we got the Roe vs. Wade news in the USA, and at that moment, all of our work on championing diversity with SOS Music and throughout my time in the industry just suddenly felt pointless. I was so angry and happened to have a weekend to myself, so I sat in my little studio in East LA and channelled some of that fierce energy I was feeling into this track," says Maia on the record's b-side.

WPP stands for Witness Protection Program, a space for artists to bathe in anonymity. To release music that they wouldn’t be able to release otherwise. It's the non-official Worldwide Peace Project.

Ecstatic Peace is more than a musical offering — it's a proposition that peace and ecstasy can coexist on the dance floor. These tracks portray a yearning for better times, serving as both wishful thinking and a coping mechanism for producer Davin Varda.

Compelled to channel his frustration with the current state of affairs into a more constructive effort, Varda has created two powerful tracks. Find Peace in Every Way takes a deep dive into house music's past, recalling pianos, organs, and vocal manipulation techniques while giving the track a modern edge with a sub-aquatic bassline and crispy drums.

Is Ecstasy echoes this nostalgic sentiment, referencing both classic bittersweet '90s house anthems and elements from the heyday of Motown records. It's the perfect end-of-night tune, inspiring hands-in-the-air moments and dance floor embraces.

Together, these tracks offer a journey through time and emotion, reminding us of music's power to unite and uplift, even in challenging times.

Jeff Mills’ “The Bells” is one of the most iconic tracks in techno history, often called the genre’s anthem. Known for its hypnotic bell melody, driving kick, and euphoric build, it became a staple in DJ sets worldwide. The track was first played live by Mills in 1995 (e.g., at Liquid Room in Tokyo), but it wasn’t officially released until 1997 as part of the Kat Moda EP on his Purpose Maker label. This EP is the original record pressing you’re asking about—no standalone “The Bells” single exists from that era. It has since been repressed multiple times due to massive demand (over 500,000 copies sold across versions).

London producer-duo, Wayward, are back after blowing us away with their marvelous "Good Afternoon Mr Magpie" EP. Wayward have a knack for bridging the gap between the dancefloor and the more soulful side of electronic music, with support across the radio airwaves from the likes of Giles Peterson on BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, KCRW, Beats In Space and Rinse FM. 

Wayward's most recent release, the "Green Lanes" EP is another milestone for the rising duo. The EP opener “Planets” (co-written with London producer Books) is a dance floor ready tune with a hypnotic bassline and the perfect amount of cowbell. “Maxi Love” brings the disco heat with an edit of a timeless classic, reinterpreted for late night escapades. On the B side, “Time and Again” is a breezy house banger and the closing track “Silver” is reminiscent of Wayward’s signature sound, blending samples in seamlessly with warm percussive elements.

@FaltyDL kicks off ‘Panorama Bar 07 | Part I’ with the appropriately titled “Paradox Garage Part 1 (With Your Love)”, blending US garage, breakbeats and chopped vocals. The alternative rhythms continue with @Jinje-music (of Vessels fame) slowly building machine-funk anthem “Big Skies”, while the B-side is reserved for @General-Ludd’s dreamy, shutter-opener “Bloods Avalanche”.

“VLVX Spiral Down” and “Hurt Me” were Inspired by the crazy energy of DIY Fetish Techno parties, which are generally better than corporate-sponsored fetish parties, although Red Bull Leather Academy has done some cool stuff. Meanwhile, “Blow” and “I’m Gonna Get” feature big vocal samples repurposed from Viers’ “deep dive” into the history of jungle music. If you enjoy this release, please do us a favor and never use the term “deep dive” again. Just say you’ve been “bonin’ up” or something.

Now one of dance music’s most respected DJs, Avalon Emerson first made a name for herself in the storied warehouse scene of her birthplace, San Francisco, before relocating to Berlin in 2013. Over a decade of performances at the famed Berghain led to appearances at numerous festivals around the world which all cemented Emerson, and her evocative, genre- and decade-spanning sets, as perennially in demand. 

In 2020, she released her first full-length collection: a contribution to the longrunning DJ-Kicks series (which Resident Advisor described as “The sound of a well-honed DJ at the top of her game.”), nestled alongside a steady stream of remix releases for the likes of Four Tet, Slowdive, Robyn and more.

Next up was 2023’s Avalon Emerson & The Charm, an instant classic which saw Emerson exploring her singing voice and more traditional songwriting outside of the boundaries of her dance music work.  Created after a move to New York, the resulting & The Charm album was released to critical acclaim, landing on numerous critics’ best-of-the-year lists.

The stage is now set, then, for her to carve out a wholly unique path, and with the help of new label home and indie giant, Dead Oceans, Emerson is poised to connect her various musical endeavors to create an untouchably rich output of material. First up is Perpetual Emotion Machine, consisting of songs created for her DJ sets, delivered via a living, evolving project and announced ahead of her worldwide tour.
