JG Outsider (@jg_outsider) is not a newcomer in Electronic music. This veteran producer from Murcia has a long career that began in the 90s with the management of the Pink Records label, and continued as half of the duo "2rare People", which achieved great success in the 2000s, being strongly supported by artists such as Oxia or Carl Cox. Today he uses this new alias to produce music halfway between the most acid Indie Dance, Industrial, sometimes entering the melodic field. In this EP for Banshees Records (@bansheesrecords) JG Outsider shows his darker side focusing on industrial sounds, accompanied by remixes by Argentinian Skelesys (@skelesys)and 9 claws.

In the vibrant summer of 1984, the sun beat down on the picturesque streets of Bologna, Italy. It was a day like any other, except that the world of music was about to witness a serendipitous encounter that would change the course of Italo dance history.

Claudio Cecchetto, a renowned Italo dance producer and DJ legend, was on his way to Rome for a crucial meeting with a record label executive. As he drove through the charming streets of Bologna, the city's energy seemed to beckon him, urging him to pause for just a moment.

He decided to stop by a local café, drawn by the aroma of freshly brewed espresso and the sound of Italian chatter. As he sipped his coffee, a man with a vibrant aura caught his attention. This man was Oderso Rubino, a well-known figure in the Italian music scene and the founder of Italian Records.

Claudio couldn't help but introduce himself to Oderso, who, in turn, recognized the famous DJ instantly. Their conversation flowed effortlessly, fueled by their shared passion for music. Oderso mentioned that he was on his way to a club where a talented band called Gaz Nevada was performing that night.

Excitement filled Claudio's veins as he realized the potential of this opportunity. He shared his vision for a new Italo dance track he had been working on called 'People From Ibiza' something fresh and exciting that could light up the dance floors. Oderso's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm, and he asked Claudio if he had a demo of the song.

Claudio nodded and reached into his bag to retrieve a cassette tape. This was the original demo, a treasure he had been carrying with him, unsure of where destiny would lead him. With a smile, he handed it to Oderso.

The two music enthusiasts made their way to the club where Gaz Nevada was performing live. The atmosphere was electric, and the dance floor pulsed with energy. Gaz Nevada took the stage, and as the crowd swayed to their rhythm, Oderso approached the band with Claudio's demo.

Gaz Nevada agreed to give it a listen during their break. As the demo played, the pulsating beats and infectious melodies filled the room. It was as if Claudio's music had captured the very essence of that moment, blending seamlessly with the euphoria of the crowd.

As the sun began to rise over Bologna, the city still reverberated with the echoes of the electrifying performance of Claudio Cecchetto's demo by Gaz Nevada the previous night. The morning after this historic encounter promised even more excitement and inspiration.

Claudio Cecchetto had spent the night supervising the recording of the demo, alongside the talented vocalist Sandy Marton. The chemistry between the two artists was undeniable, and their shared passion for music fueled their creative energies.

In the studio, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation. Claudio, Sandy, and the members of Gaz Nevada were ready to breathe life into the masterpiece they had discovered. The song was born right there, in the heart of Italy, a tribute to the vibrant spirit of the island of Ibiza.

As the recording session progressed, the song "People From Ibiza" began to take shape. Claudio's deft production skills brought out the best in Sandy's powerful vocals, while Gaz Nevada added their signature touch with electrifying instrumentals.

This is the original tape of the forgotten initial version, recovered and restored by Italo Disco's collector and aficionado  Craxi Disco.

DC Salas returns to his own Higher Hopes imprint for their third edition via the collaborative project Los Niños Del Parque with Anthony Barbarich (aka Mirror Minds), a release 15 years in the making.

The Los Niños Del Parque project came about due to the duo's mutual musical background & influence: 2000's electroclash, early electro house, new wave, new beat, and more. The idea is to produce something playful and true to the duo's roots. The EP was over four years in the making due to various obstacles, the title 'Frequencias Eternas' (Eternal Frequencies) tells the story of two long-time friends, connected to each other in one way or another.

The release is rounded off with a remix by the talented Badaboum & Rinse France resident Belaria.

Parisian electronic artist CHLOÉ and her Lumière Noire Records imprint explore new pastures in 2024, leaning into more club-focused sounds with an immersive new compilation series titled ‘Flash.’ Lumière Noire’s new VA collection welcomes a slew of international talent, providing a wave of experimental flavours with definitive underground gradients. ‘Flash Vol. 1’ plays host to four unique cuts, delivered by Danse Alice, Louen Poppé, Leonor & Fausto and Kike Am Radar.

Enigmatic duo Danse Alice’s ‘Dance On Your Grave’ (feat. Lucy) brings undeniably weird and wonderful energy from the outset, combining detuned analogue musicality, eerie vocals and undulating rhythmic cadence throughout. Louen Poppé’s ‘Mondor’ will be released as a single on the 15th March, to tease the VA. The track fuses retro synth stabs, rumbling modular textures, probing arps and haunting harmonies alongside a head-bobbing breakbeat foundation. 

The combination of Leonor & Fausto follows with ‘Monastic’ which blends robotic nuances, pumping drum grooves, cleverly modulated acid synth lines and glitchy sonics to carve out a sci-fi-inspired basement jam before Kike Am Radar rounds off the release with ‘It’s All Lies’, bringing subtly celestial-laced chugging, weighty house vibes full of nostalgic synthesiser layers and copious, reverberated soundscapes.

Coming soon on the Spanish powerhouse Espacio Cielo, the too-hot-to-trot endeavour of rising & shining producers Rem’s Martinez (SXDNS108) and Alemao is a must-have. Featuring remixes tailored with love by none other than Mundo D and Javier Busto (FREEDL060), "Acid Boys” is filled with retro cosmic insertions and a proper dose of, yes, Acid – not too much, not too little, just the perfect amount as clearly explained by the title of the second original, “Just A Dash Of Acid”. 

Hailing from Marseille, France, Rem’s is a common name amid the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene due to his well-received appearances on Critical Monday, Quixotical, and Under The Tree. Munich-based Alemao, in turn, has also his name shouted out loud and clear because of his solid discography issued on Sinchi, NEIN, Mélopée, and Weirdos, to name a few. Both land on Espacio for the very first time – and they could not have had a better debut.

Premiered here, "Boys Revenge" comes wrapped with a punchy attitude delivered by sturdy guitar-like riffs, melodic synth leads, and AAA+ vocals by Rem’s himself. The result is a Post-Punk-meets-Electroclash theme with an absurd level of danceability. And for those who like to sing along while dancing: “The Boys Revenge/Do you wanna see?/It’s a high level/You won’t believe it/The Boys Revenge/Do you wanna fit in?/It’s now or never/You should come here.”

In 2019 we received a-lot of tracks from Mytron, and we were immediately hooked. Unfortunately not all the tracks could fit the vinyl. Hard choices had to be made and thereby we are super happy to share this EP with you.
Even more exciting is that we asked San Soda to make a remix under his New Beat moniker, Nick Berlin.

This resulted in a diverse EP with original tracks by Mytron (ft. Dreems) which could be played at every moment in a set (hopefully in clubs and festivals again soon).
To top it off, the remix by Nick Berlin (aka San Soda) will certainly be liked among New Beat lovers.

Welcome to 2021: Darkroom Dubs crack open their 18th year with a
warm welcome to two new members to the roster... Santiago producer Alejandro Paz and Berlin duo Local Suicide with ‘Directions’, complete with remixes from Undo, DJs Pareja and Velax. 

Cold, cutting edge and boasting a full-spectrum of sounds, there’s a slight irony to dropping a release called ‘Directions’ when none of us know where the hell we’re going right now. But we sure as hell know what we’re listening to. And boy do we love it.

As proved on previous collaborations between the two acts on labels
such as Nein and Aeon, Alejandro’s weighty production dynamics and
Local Suicide’s purring noir soul complement each other to the very last transient. Part new romantic, part techno, all dancefloor; each track is a story just as much as it’s a song. ‘Directions’ captures the frustrations and intensity of isolated life in the 21st century and ‘Splish Splash’ takes a provocative, playful stance with its acid house bass plunges and cosmic squiggles.

It’s loaded with a full range of heavyweight remixes from a rollcall of
exceptional talent: Undo gets a slinky bass guitar in the mix, DJs Pareja get wonky and bumpy while Velax fuses more grit and intensity in his special Isolated remix. The world may continue to spin backwards but we know where we’re heading... And it’s artists like Alejandro Paz and Local Suicide who are helping us get there. Take care of each other.
