avas' debut ep 'data' was born in her bedroom, yet designed to be played out in the club. The 22-year-old Chicago-based Avelina DeCandia, known to her friends as Ava, has been meticulously constructing club-ready tracks and dj tools over the past couple years while drifting to and from Minneapolis, Chicago and Vancouver, BC. 'data' embraces the euphoria of club music, it beckons listeners to surrender to its immersive experience, best enjoyed amidst the throbbing bass and communal energy of a colossal sound system.

Each track within 'data' pulsates with a refined, stripped-down sound that looks toward the future, enveloped by resonant kick drums and dreamy soundscapes that evoke nostalgia for early "deconstructed club" music and its influences from jersey club, ballroom, trap, chicago house and techno.

The EP features collaborations from Auckland, NZ-based vocalist, producer and club music visionary 'jhl' (Soul Feeder, Tabula Rasa) and Chicago-based experimental pop darling and frequent collaborator 'plastic pet' (Deskpop, Unseelie) who both lend their vocals and production to the mix.

As avas' debut offering, 'data' is an embodiment of the unity and collaboration felt throughout electronic music that transcends geographical boundaries whether there be either thousands of miles or just a couple feet between.

Producer, vocalist, DJ, and dancer Andras_2020 is a rising figure in Europe’s burgeoning electronic music
scene. Originally from Brazil, the artist garnered a dedicated following by releasing their intricate and
textured debut EP, “Cuerpo Temperamental (acting in concert),” in 2021. This success was followed by
the Cuerpo Tour, which saw Andras enthralling audiences across Europe and the UK for nearly two years.
As a live performer, Andras’ work amalgamates contemporary dance and club culture. Their performances
fuse the visceral materiality of the body, violent screams, and poetry, exploring themes of survival and
physical transformation, contrasted with the gentleness of soft pop live aesthetics.
Motivated by a desire and natural ability to fuse personal experiences with creative expression, Andras
released “Blowhole” for Rest Now!. The title candidly contrasts the concept of inhaling and exhaling
through a hole, like cetaceans, with anal pleasure and its associations with queerness and discomfort.
At the base of the creative process lies the recovery experience from a series of major rectal surgeries,
serving as a paradox and a mirroring of the shame, sorrow, pain, and torment they endured during such
a period.
The EP balances its profoundly personal core with a lively and polished avant-garde pop exterior,
showcasing prominent synthetic sounds and metallic textures, evoking the ambiance of an operating
room or the calls of dolphins. Andras’ second bedroom studio record features collaborations with thrilling
artists such as Bristol-based Sarahsson and MICHAELBRAILEY.
