I work months on some tracks and they still aren't complete. I work three weeks on this track and that's more than enough time. Weird how that works....

Round 1 Challenge Stipulations: 

“Music is about telling stories. And given that we are approaching a new decade, how about we reflect a bit on this past decade? Using FIVE INSTRUMENTS OR LESS, in UNDER 60 SECONDS, tell us your favorite moment from the last ten years. The music should distinctly reflect the moment you are trying to depict.”

I’ve had a handful of favorite memories over the last decade, and it was difficult to choose. However, one memory in particular stood out to me the most, and that was the day that we got to bring our son home from his 2-week stay in the NICU. Our first car ride together as a family evoked all kinds of emotions. We were terrified because of we were brand new parents, we were relieved that our son was okay, and we were unbelievably excited because we FINALLY got to bring our baby boy home. Most of all, it felt like my life began all over again. No one tells you that becoming a parent has a way of biologically re-hardwiring your brain and fundamentally alters your sense of being. This track is meant to represent that very first drive home together as a family, and the beautiful sense of togetherness that permeated every aspect of that journey.

Round 2 Challenge Stipulations:

“Greetings fellow Auxians! It’s your mystery guest judge friend here, and I’m really excited for the challenge I’m going to give you all this week. I would like you all to express a certain mood in 60 SECONDS OR LESS, by providing an emotional solo in your track. What mood, you may ask? You have three options:

A romantic track featuring a piano/guitar solo
A lonely track featuring a pad/strings solo
A jazzy track featuring a brass/synth solo

I went for option 3, a jazzy track. My wife and I love jazz, and we like to play it in the mornings in the kitchen when breakfast is being made. It’s invigorating, exciting, and just FRESH feeling, and it’s something that we get to share together as we take on every day of our lives as a unit. This track features a saxophone solo and clocks in at 57 seconds. The feeling I wanted to convey with this track is “an adventure with the one you love”.

“You’ve been challenged to make a groovy beat. The focus should be on the groove, so we’re looking for something in 8-16 bars.”

I took some time to revisit some of my favorite groove masters for some inspiration (people like Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, and George Clinton) and wanted to do my best to bring the funk to this groove challenge.

“60bpm or 300bpm, build and drop, 32 seconds max. It can’t be a soft gentle drop either, this has to go HARD. 8 bars if 60bpm, 40 bars if 300bpm. Each comes out to 32 seconds.”

yeah ok its been a long while since i released anything on here. in that time, i’ve managed to learn alot more about music in general and have really gotten into jazz music and harmony. I can’t say i will be posting regularly, as I have focused my career towards music education, preformance, and jazz. Moving Forward

For now, I'm averageteencuber. I've been producing on and off since mid 2016. I'm a member of the staff at @weareefflux.

Formerly, I was NateTheDerp or NTDMusic, but a track corruption caused my profile to be destroyed. I lost motivation as a result, and moved on from Auxy for about a year and a half. recently, I found that my backup of all my old projects was also corrupted, probably due to said track. So I decided I'd start anew, from the beginning again—and with a new name. Hopefully you'll find my tracks enjoyable!

I'm open to collabs as well as remixes. If you want to do either, reply on a track of mine or send me a message on here or Discord.
