Strapontin and Zillas On Acid are back with a second red hot collaborative EP. Let them tell you all about it….

After completing Acid Straps Vol. I, we knew we had to delve ever deeper into the shared Strapontin-Zillas (Strapozillas?) universe–harder, weirder, wilder. Work commenced as before, with music volleyed across the Atlantic via the information superhighway. Particular yet universal themes emerged with “Dial Up” (modern [mis]communication), “Another Job” (the perils of labor), “Reading Comments” (distraction and the social mediated life), and “In Your Mind” (quick fix platitudes via the self-help industrial complex). 

A chance planetary alignment brought the three of us together IRL in Brussels this past summer to put the finishing touches on the EP while we were all incarnated–TOGETHER–in the same physical space. It’s this raw PHYSICALITY that informs the more focused final release, which we hope will translate to you, the listener, as you carefully experience… Acid Straps Vol. II.

For their inaugural release, London-based Vysyon presents Mercuri: an enchanting EP of enigmatic techno featuring work by Swiss artists Varuna & Mateo Hurtado.

Having developed their brand of abyssal club music through releases on Amenthia Recordings & their own imprint A Walking Contradiction, Varuna dive into the void on ‘Remote Pulsar’. Driven by a disorientating polyrhythm cloaked in opaque atmospherics, the trio’s otherworldly approach to sound design is on full display. By contrast, the pounding 4/4 kick & propulsive acid bass of ‘Uvez Echos’ entrance the listener into a state of dancefloor reverie.

Mateo Hurtado casts his own unique magic over the flip, showcasing his archetypal mystic sound established via an album on Annulled music & remixes for Space Drum Meditation. The mesmerising flute melody of ‘An Invisible Fire, Working In Secret’ casts a spell of hypnosis, while the flowing, amorphous pads & twisted bass of ‘The Eternal Mirror’ conjure visions of worlds unknown.

Cyberdom - Tectonics [Voidless Records]

Voidless Records debuts with Tectonics, a four-track EP by Barcelona-based producer Cyberdom, where Electro collides with a narrative of collapse and transformation.

What if collapse isn’t the end, but the beginning?

The main theme of the release draws inspiration from the natural forces that shape our planet. Plate tectonics. This cycle of breakdown and reformation becomes a metaphor for social crises, collective uprisings, and personal processes of transformation.

The journey begins with ‘Mariana Trench’, a dense ambient piece evoking a descent into the deepest ocean trench. ‘Collapse’ follows with tight beats and simmering synths building slow-burning tension. The title track ‘Tectonics’ delivers syncopated basslines, robotic patterns, and vocoders that encapsulates the concept of the release. The EP is brought to a close with ‘System Strikers’ a four-on-the-floor weapon driven by heavy kicks, vocoders, and sharp arpeggiated basslines.

This first release lays the foundation for Voidless Records — a forward-thinking imprint rooted in concept, where each work carves its own path, unbound by genre and driven by deeper artistic intent.
