Born in Seoul, South Korea, Jumi, was formed as a classical pianist from an early age. When she was 14, she moved to South America with her family and she spent her teens in Lima, Perú. Making her debut as a Dj, at 19. From that moment on, the phenomenon known as, “Jumilee”, as her countless fans call her, has grown considerably over the years. She is admired and respected by her captivating talent, sophisticated musical taste and impeccable DJ skills.
Influenced by artists such as Emmanuel (IT), Slam, Dax J, Thomas P. Heckmann, Kobosil, Ben Klock, Paula Temple, to name a few, her style is described as a powerful energetic pumping techno with hypnotic melodies and driving grooves. It's clear that she knows how to use all the versatility and flexibility that techno offers her. With a unique ability to read and move the crowd, she always manages to transmit feelings and emotions when she plays. "That's the true beauty of music, it connects people", she says. For her, it’s essential to always strive to be original, to never settle and always push forward to give her best to her fans.
In the last years, Jumi has played consistently in the most recognized venues and parties in Lima and many other cities of Perú, as well as for bigger crowds in numerous occasions in festivals such as: Creamfields Perú, Far Away Festival and Intifest. She has also played in cities such as Montevideo, Mexico DF, Santiago, Quito, Guayaquil, Santa Cruz and La Paz.
Jumi was in charge of opening and closing for International DJs such as Richie Hawtin, Marcel Dettmann, Slam, Amelie Lens, Popof, Ilario Alicante, Paco Osuna, Monoloc, Marc Houle, among others.
In 2007, she released her first EP called "Bass Machine", under the label Eletrodomesticos(BR), which received great support from DJ/Producers like John Acquaviva and Kosmas Epsilon. The remix was also included in the compilation CD "Best Female DJs of the World". Jumi is also a brand ambassador and is booked to play at numerous parties for prestigious brands such as: Chanel, MAC, Salvatore Ferragamo, Dior, Vogue Magazine, Audi, Jaguar, Nike and Tommy Hilfiger. At the moment she is concentrating on working on her own productions and releasing them internationally.

Desatando una implacable fusión de Death metal y metal moderno, con el ataque y precisión de la guitarra en el metal progresivo/Shoegaze, Avoidant fue formada en Lima, Perú, en el invierno del 2010, con la idea y proyección de los músicos Daniel Ramón Ibárcena Mollyk y Giancarlo Melgar Novoa que se conocieron a través de una red social, y también por la relación en género de las bandas paralelas de cada uno. Luego de haberse contactado por medio de la red social, decidieron quedar para juntarse y comenzar a desarrollar el proyecto de Death Metal.

Después de intercambiar ideas y conocerse, deciden que el músico baterista Daniel Yowad Ibárcena Mollyk, de la misma banda paralela de su hermano (Daniel Ramón Ibárcena Mollyk), se una al proyecto “Avoidant”.

Al pasar algunas semanas componiendo un par de temas, se llegó a definir el estilo de la banda y pasaron a convocar a un segundo guitarrista, pero por falta de contactos, se mantuvo la idea de permanecer con una sola guitarra. Luego surgió la idea de convocar al bajista de la banda Ichthyosis (ahora Decorpsed), John Coronado, también conocido por los hermanos Ibárcena.

Mediante la constante interacción entre los hermanos Ibárcena y Giancarlo Melgar, se concluye con los temas que irán en su Demo debut nombrado “Eye-Solated Breed” (2011).
Meses después, tras una ardua búsqueda, se logra encontrar un 2do guitarrista para la banda: Giomar Carrasco. 

La banda logra lanzar el demo con buena acogida y luego de unos meses deciden que es hora de nuevo material. Desafortunadamente y por motivos personales, John Coronado deja la banda y deciden convocar por algunas referencias a Andres Rodas Arce, quien quedaría como el nuevo bajista oficial de la banda, formando así la alineación actual de Avoidant.

La nueva fase de composición y todo el proceso de grabación fueron muy similares a su anterior trabajo. Es así que a principios de Julio del 2012, la banda lanza un EP de cuatro temas titulado “Morphology”. Un trabajo que muestra la evolución de la banda en búsqueda de sonidos más progresivos pero manteniendo toda la destreza que caracteriza su Death metal.

Actualmente la banda se encuentra promocionando su primer video-clip del tema “A Catalyst for Destruction” y también componiendo temas totalmente nuevos para su álbum debut.

Unleashing a relentless fusion of Death metal, modern metal, with the guitar attack precision of progressive metal/Shoegaze, Avoidant was formed in Lima, Peru in the winter of 2010 after the idea and projection from the musicians Daniel Ramón Ibárcena Mollyk and Giancarlo Melgar Novoa whom met each other through a social network and also because of the genre relation between each one’s parallel bands. After having made contact through the social network, they decided to get together and begin to develop the Death Metal project.

After exchanging ideas and meet each other, they decided that the musician Daniel Yowad Ibárcena Mollyk from his brother’s same parallel band (Daniel Ramón Ibárcena Mollyk) join the “Avoidant” project.
After some weeks of composition and having made two songs, the band’s genre was defined and they began to look for a second guitar player, an idea that was discarded because of the lack of people, so they maintained the idea of remaining with just one guitar player. Afterwards, they contacted Ichthyosis’ (now Decorpsed) bass player, John Coronado, also known by the Ibárcena brothers.

Through constant interaction between the Ibárcena brothers and Giancarlo Melgar, the songs that will appear in their first Demo “Eye-solated Breed” were finished.
Some months later, after a hard search, a 2nd guitar player for the band is found: Giomar Carrasco.

The band get to release the demo with good reception and whitin a few months they decide it's time for new material. Unfortunately and for personal reasons, John Coronado left the band and they decide to call for some references to Andres Rodas Arce, who would stay as the new official bassist of the band, forming the current lineup of Avoidant.

The new phase of composition and the whole process of recording was very similar to his previous work. Thus, in early July 2012, the band released a four-track EP entitled "Morphology". A record that shows the evolution of the band in search of more progressive sounds but keeping all the skill that characterizes his Death metal.

Currently the band is promoting his first video clip for the song "A Catalyst for Destruction" and also composing new tracks for the debut album.
