Hello & Willkommen to the Alternative Fakten 1st of May Takeover. Happy Tag der Arbeit!

Alternative Fakten is a Munich-based platform operating events, radio shows & physical/digital releases: exploring the weird and obscure, injecting anarchy into the city's underground electronic music scene. Today’s takeover is a mix of crew and friends, serving a very “Special Schwurbel 10h Sunday Afternoon Extravaganza”.

Starting things off is Tom Zwotausend, who started Alternative Fakten in 2018, followed by longtime crew members Bartoszek, Veronika USA and Norandin. Enjoy!

Next up are Die Spiiiders. Who the fuck are Die Spiiiders? Lucky enough, Alternative Fakten was able to sign the trio for further adventures after delivering the hit-banger “Ich bin ein Kaltgetränk, ich wohne im Kühlschrank”. Today, we are happy to enjoy a one hour set of the future supergroup’s favorites.

Following up, we are celebrating two very special “Kleiner Tanzraum” moments served during the latest Alternative Fakten club night at Import Export, Munich. Notorious Mira Mann and Céline deliver their alternative facts on the matter.

Closing today’s Alternative Fakten takeover, we’re willing to go down all the way to the rabbit keller – where CD Jessy is waiting for us already. The driving force behind the Alternative Fakten video work is also a big pusher for the anarchic twist within the team’s portfolio – rein da!

He’s followed by Niklas and Joshua alias Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge , who have always been a big inspiration for the Alternative Fakten project. Lucky enough the Faktis had the chance to host them twice here in Munich alraedy. Very happy to present this one hour guest mix in the context of a long lasting friendship. Na Servus!

Finishing off this Alternative Fakten takeover at Radio 80000 is P-T2, who has been a backbone of the Munich underground scene for many years. The artist probably achieved more in our field than most do in a lifetime. P-T2’s understanding of music and night culture goes this deep because they already lived every aspect of it - as a dancer, bartender, host, as a DJ and producer, as labelhead, as an activist and as head of the famous club Rote Sonne in Munich. Made from all these impressions she formed the persona taking place in the DJ booths now. Their sound? The very best of - one part electro, one part techno, every part acid; sometimes playful, sometimes avantgarde, sometimes spacey, but always on point.

Leon Haller is a DJ, Producer and Performing artist currently based in Brandenburg but mainly active in Munich, Germany. Over the years he has been part of several collectives and party series. Since 2017 he was a Resident DJ at the recently closed Harry Klein Club, a Munich Techno institution, where he also created the PERRAS parties together with Louis EMP, MRTI and Manuel Loewe. Both as a DJ and party host he draws on a wide range of genres and moods, always with a focus on disinhibition and escapism. With his background in theater and a degree in dramatic arts he does have a keen ear for different textures in dance music and a sharp eye for the energy on the dance floor. In addition to his residency at Harry Klein, he also played in venues such as Rote Sonne (Munich), Disco Zwei (Mannheim) and Zur Klappe (Berlin). For this mix he went back to his roots which lie in deep, pulsing, sometimes wistful and haunting Techno, with subtle House-ish accents appearing sometimes. He included some tracks he has been listening to and playing for quite some time, paired with fresh releases, sparkling percussions and hypnotic dance floor bombs. ▻ As you can see, you have already gathered quite a bit of DJ experience. How long have you been DJing?

Almost a decade... I started DJing at the end of 2013 and was a resident DJ at Rote Sonne from early 2015 on. From that moment on I used to play on a regular basis, never got bored of playing records from the first contact with vinyl =)

▻ The Harry Klein had to close. How are you coping with that? - Where will the „scene“ in Munich go further?

Harry Klein, especially Garry Klein, later also Marry Klein, was very important to me. Like for many others it was the first techno club in Munich that I danced at, also a place that I really enjoyed to play at. Going to the club for the last time felt like being at a funeral, indeed the most festive funeral I ever attended. My coping strategy was to dance as long as there was prosecco available - when my friends and I drank up the last bottle while Benna played the last records, I shred a couple tears on the dancefloor, took a souvenir from the interieur and finally said goodbye forever. 
The scene in Munich is more and more based on collective structures instead of lighthouse institutions like clubs, which is a very interesting and exciting development. The only missing part is space. So I guess the collectives will increasingly reclaim empty spaces, using them for their social-cultural needs, which will cause possibilities to open and run new venues, clubs and spaces...

▻ You are also committed to culture, but how far can you really move forward?

I can always only move as far as the groups in which I act. So I tend to move forward with progressive collectives instead of dusty institutions which will not change a lot as long as they are not willing to change themselves. 
I love working and creating with people who also commit themselves and our activities to the goal of being the change we wish to see in the world...

▻ You are also on the move in other movements, right?

Sounds like standing still was not an option ;)
I somehow get frequently involved with different movements - from climate justice, urban open space to queer feminist and anti fascist action - in the end it's about fighting for human rights.

▻ What are you most passionate about and what would you most like to change in society?

My passion is not only about some single field or activity but especially or essentially the diverse mix of different perspectives and professions, learning and co-creating interdisciplinary...
There are so many things that I would love to change; overcoming patriarchy, neocolonialism and capitalism sounds like a plan
We could all start with becoming more aware, standing up for our rights and speaking up against injustice. Especially art is allowed to remain inconvenient, and it should...
