PREMIERE: Anneke Laurent - Dropper [Der Schwarze Punkt]

At just 20 years old, Piero Acinapura is already carving out a blend of raw, sharp tech grooves with releases on respected imprints including Take Notes, CUFF, and Sound D’Elite, and early support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Michael Bibi, Joseph Capriati, and Toman. Rooted in the sounds of Milan, his style continues to evolve through shows across Italy and Europe, and he now readies his biggest release to date with a first appearance on Stacey Pullen’s Blackflag Recordings.

Spanning three dynamic cuts, Acinapura’s ‘Lowrider’ EP captures his young, creative spirit across diﬀerent moods and moments. The title track was inspired by a Spanish interview he stumbled upon discussing a rave party. Sampling and reworking the spoken word amongst a bouncy, driving groove, the result is a lively percussive cut that feels fresh and spontaneous.
Next up, ‘Skate Park’ leans into more experimental territory. Looking to fuse old-school sounds with modern club energy, Acinapura layers gritty drums and warped vocals into a rugged, oﬀ-kilter groove, resulting in something raw, unexpected, and totally dancefloor-ready after rounds of testing and refinement. Rounding out the package, ‘Jam’ was created with the club in mind.
Stripped-back, sharp, and focused, it delivers another no-nonsense rhythm designed to lock in late-night crowds, tailored for the kind of gigs where every detail matters. A confident and versatile debut, the EP sees Piero Acinapura bring his emerging sound to Blackflag Recordings with style, marking another big step forward for this talented newcomer.

Vitali. - Looking Forward

Politics Of Dancing returns to their self-titled label with more perfect club bait. 'Fonk' is a breezy, smooth tech house pumper with shape-shifting synths and a nice tightly coiled bassline that are perfectly easy to latch onto a cruise along with. 'Little Freak' brings more colour to some psychedlic synth refrains that loop over the bubbly tech house beats and 'Breaky' has a gritty low end and cosmic pads. It's body music with a future edge and last of all is an Arapu remix which ups the pace a little and brings some sci-fi motifs to a fulsome minimal soundscape.

Breakthrough house and techno pioneer Luca Donzelli continues to impress with new release on Santé’s AVOTRE imprint 

Making a name for himself as one of 2016’s fastest rising stars, Luca Donzelli has taken the underground scene by storm with a steady stream stand out releases and electrifying club shows across Europe’s raving hotspots. 

Opening with a soulful drumbeat and rolling bassline, the Italian powerhouse producer wastes no time in introducing his signature jackin sound on ‘Good Wine Makes Good Blood’ – The first track on this three track single release. The beat drops into a dancefloor ready roller with the introduction of vocal loops and almost acidic synths, setting the tone for what is to come on the following two tracks.

Next up ‘I Have To Bring Her To Ibiza’ keeps the mood of the release decidedly deep while continuing to demonstrate Luca’s enviable production techniques. Leaving little doubt in his talent, Donzelli finds the perfect blend of pace quickening baselines and soulful synth interchanges on this record to create a dancefloor weapon, ready to set summer 2016 alight.

Rounding off the release with another top notch club record, Luca calls on the talents of long time friend and sparring partner Mar-T to leave his sonic mark on ‘The Abuela’s Tool’. A club ready banger from start to finish, the track quickly sets the pace with a series of complex synth interchanges before the chunky bassline drops in and elevates the whole record to new heights.
