Eine lange Nacht mit vielen Ereignissen ist endlich zu Ende. Nach dem Vorfall mit dem erschöpften Mann verlief die Schicht ohne weitere Vorkommnisse.  Gerade läuft der obligatorische Closing Track vom Raverend aus und die Menge bereitet sich schon darauf vor die heiligen Hallen zu verlassen. Zügig und geordnet werden die Gäste von den ComRa Mitarbeitern zum Ausgang geleitet und der riesige Saal ist bald leer. Viele der Leute wirken sehr müde, sie haben mal wieder alles auf der Tanzfläche gegeben. Kaum einer fragt, ob irgendwo noch etwas geht. Die Meisten wollen nach dieser intensiven Nacht einfach nur nach Hause. Auch ich möchte nur noch ins Bett und endlich zur Ruhe kommen. Lighter scheint mir meinen Wunsch anzusehen und schickt mich noch vor Schichtende in den Feierabend. Für meinen ersten Abend habe ich mich gut geschlagen, sagt er mit einem Zwinkern.
Etwas zerknirscht Suche ich meine Sachen und schlendere durch das große Haupttor hinaus. Mein Kopf ist voll mit Gedanken, ja geradezu verstopft. Es scheint so als könnte ich nichts mehr aufnehmen. Keine äußeren Eindrücke dringen wirklich mehr zu mir durch. Voll automatisiert bestreite ich meinen Heimweg und lasse mich erschöpft ins Bett fallen.

There’s no denying the ascent of Raphael Mader over the past 2 years. In spite of the shutdown, his ability to craft a memorable riff and sheer quality of production has seen him rise to become a genuine juggernaut in the melodic techno scene; now, with The Blinding EP, his latest 4 track EP that finds him returning to Renaissance, the convoy shows little signs of slowing.
"I’ve seen a lot of producers highlighting personal influences in their music recently. I guess with the absence of nightclubs everyone’s had to look elsewhere for creative inspiration," explains Raphael, "but even before the fateful pandemic arrived, I was always more introspective in my approach. My music has, and will always be, my personal therapy - it's a direct response to my day-to-day life and the events that transpire around me."

And what a life he must lead because the lens through which Raphael Mader views the world is clearly (pun intended) very beautiful indeed. All 3 original tracks on the EP possess those ethereal, "hairs-on-the-back-your-neck" chills that are so hard to distill; it’s confirmation of a world-class producer, delivering world-class vibes. Whether title track, Blinding, Sail Away or the slightly edgier Fundamental, all more than qualify for the category, "goosebumps".

But the beauty doesn’t end there as the uber-hot Lopezhouse were swift to take on remix honours.
"We really went with our heart on this one," says David and Carlos from their Spanish studio, 
"we used a Fender guitar to blend a re-styled bassline with loads of atmospheric backgrounds and hope you can hear the love and passion that went into it!"

Playing sunday night at Fusion Festival is something you can't plan and style in advance. I thought about this before and definitely recognized it when stepping into Räuberhöhle one hour before the gig. Really not the right time to follow any plans, so I didn't and it felt totally right. There were people all around, dancing up on the bar, dj pult, everywhere. I also spotted something similar to stagediving in the second half of my set and I really never considered stagediving as something appropriate for techno or house music. But it was!! And its even more crazy the more I try to remember every detail. Listening to my set right now I still feel that this has some more twists than normally - so everytime you think it might be a little weird or crazy - believe me - it was weird and crazy. 

This final night created so much energy. Maybe because everybody was already happy or maybe because nothing else mattered anymore since everybody was kinda dusty, dirty and happy anyways. Thanks to everybody who was part of the madness, thanks Räuberhöhle and thanks Fusion for this wild and unexpected trip. Wahnsinn!

Diego Santin aka THEOREM is a DJ and producer currently living in Milan.

He has quite a long experience as a DJ, both in Italy and abroad, where he had the opportunity to be influenced by different perspectives of the international electronic music scene. Inspired by his continuous travelling, his selection is focusing on ethereal, atmospheric and introspective tracks able to spread an immersive lightness throughout the entire dance floor. He had been resident DJ for “q|Lab”, the most visionary and dynamic LGBTQ+ party in Milan, as well as being invited as a guest in other clubs and venues.

In 2019 he founded the collective “clausura”, an event series (supported by the homonyms podcast platform) that has the aim to spread a deep and atmospheric techno sound in the city of Milan.

You can guess his past life as an engineer through his sounds characterized by a minimalistic, schematic and mathematic style of composition. This novelty was awarded by being selected for the final phase of “Jägermusic Lab” contest on September 2017 under the pseudonym of Archipelagus, his duo production project.

Raphael Mader is born in Munich, Germany in the mid 80s.

Already as a teenager he started making music in his child's room, developing skills at producing, sound engineering and mastering on his own projects.
