Gregor Tresher kicks off 2015 looking to break new soil with his first ever full release for John Digweed's Bedrock Records.   

Last year was as hectic as ever for the Gregor and he came into it on high from the success of his artist album Nightcolours and having closed out 2013 by releasing an astonishing Laurent Garnier remix of the title track, on his own imprint.   Time to relax a little maybe? Not a chance. January saw the remixed version of the album hit the stores and this was backed within a few weeks by 'Taurus', Gregor's enticing collaboration with Petar Dundov. The summer saw him remix the Chymera classic 'Shadowdancer' and he closed 2014 with the superb 'Midas / Disturber' double-header.   

Somewhat of a musical chameleon, Tresher is as at home creating deeper shades of house for the likes of Moon Harbour and Ovum as he is techno rhythms for Music Man, Cocoon and Drumcode.   With label boss Digweed a huge fan, Bedrock is yet another perfect fit for the German and he opens his account with the mighty, melodic and Kraken'esque 'Goliath' and the razor-sharp lightning bolt that is 'Stormblade'.

Riding the pulses with perfect balance are the Brazilian connection Christian Smith and Wehbba, whose remix is a svelte classic of layers and loops, minimalism and maximums.

Diynamic’s star man H.O.S.H. goes Euro-skeletal, sharpening the original’s mechanoid riff to ricochet around the lab before bringing in an ear-piercing breakdown, and then embarking on a fuller, more celebratory vibe with his ‘Melodrama mix’.

The Junkies are tasked with taking ‘Ten Commandments’ to Toronto and give expert insight into cyclical techno, simultaneously sweeping the underground and sending down lightning bolts from up high.

Making their 2019 full release debut for Sudbeat are the dynamic duo of Gabriel Rocha & Juan Carlos Villalba, better known as Tiefstone. Theirs is a story that involves deep beats, alluring melodies and large helpings of funk. Breaking into the scene in 2015, their rise has been exponential with tracks already signed to Saved Records, Bedrock and two appearances on the Showcrates series.

In its original form, ‘Lestat’ is a powerful, deep synth-led progger. On a bed of crisp percussive rhythms, a repeating phrase running throughout intertwines with pads and sonics to weave a personal journey towards the stratosphere. On remix duties, Rick Pier O’Neil takes us down a darker, ethereal path towards the earlier hours of the morning while label manager Graziano Raffa turns in a lighter, xylophone-led version filled with warm, summery feels.

Bedrock is proud to welcome the supremely talented Andreas Henneberg to the label and showcase his magnificent debut 6-track Duff Trip EP.

Born in Berlin and still living, loving & working in that beautiful pulsating city, Andreas has been working industriously behind the scenes since the mid 90s as a producer, label owner, mastering-engineer and (of course) as a DJ and live-performer. Stylistically, Andreas is located somewhere between Techno, Minimal and House, simply because he is constantly blurring restrictive genre boundaries and defying expectations. He has a sonic fingerprint that is easily recognisable yet hard to define, exploring unfamiliar sounds in unique new ways.

The jittery explosive tension of Duff Trip opens proceedings, swiftly followed by the low-slung, heavyweight percussive workout of When The X Drops, complete with deliciously dynamic analogue motifs. With Vilnius, Andreas gets his funk on, teasing out yet another hip-swinging analogue monster, whilst the initial sparse stomp of Equal To Each builds to towering, spine tingling peaks throughout. This delightful rollercoaster ride through the musical mind of Andreas Henneberg continues with
more peaky percussion in the form of AHAP, before a stripped-back finale Techno skank, titled Nomades, brings this exceptional audio adventure to a suitably fabulous conclusion.

Andreas Hennebergs vast number of productions, publications and releases are the result of more than 20 years studio and label experience. The founder of SNOE and Cascandy, as well as part of The Glitz and Hennon, you can find Andreas releasing on the likes of Voltage Musique, Katermukke, Get Physical, AREAL, Desert Hearts, Parquet, Heinz Music and Systematic. It all started for him at seminal clubs like Tresor and at the very first Berghain/Panoramabar, so his sense of history and class as a DJ is unrivalled.

With his critically acclaimed philharmonic live concert concept called Synth Happens (see view link below) Andreas has gained attention worldwide, proving himself yet again as a genre transcending and multifaceted musician capable of blending styles in an innovative fashion. Whichever project he puts his name to it comes from a place of deep understanding and appreciation that too few producers have in the modern age.

Maceo Plex is back on his own Ellum Audio with huge statement single ‘Nu World’.

Maceo Plex has fomented his own singular sound in the last few years. His unique brand of techno has always been melodic, adventurous, and epic - the sort of sounds that can unite the vast crowds he plays to all over the world. He has nurtured artists with similar mindsets on his label but now takes the reins himself and is in typically fine form.

The excellent ‘Nu World’ is a rousing single that will sweep anyone off their feet. The strident drums, the big vocal cries and the emotional synths all add up to a mesmerising, hands in the air anthem that will appeal to electronic music lovers across the board. Add in the rugged bass and smart synth effects and the results are truly irresistible.

This is another landmark track from the ever impressive Maceo Plex with all proceeds from this release going to ACLU to fight voter suppression.
