The inspiration emerged from the raw emotions that surge within us during life’s tumultuous moments. Our feelings can take us on exhilarating highs and heart-wrenching lows. The lyrics capture the essence of holding on when faced with twists and turns. Imagery of sunshine and rain symbolizes growth, resilience, and the enduring power of love. Ultimately, it’s a celebration of the wild ride that is human connection and how, until our last breath we hold on to love.

Our initial dialog with Synthia was an adventurous creative endeavour that made us question whether machines could have a soul. This one definitely spoke her mind, and left a fascinating mark on both of us as a wondrous machine––––––woman, a marvelous piece of engineering, an entity trapped in a modular eternity.

Considering that neither of us had any previous contact with such a complex modular system such as EMS Synthi 100, we took a somewhat intuitive approach. This is a fairly raw glimpse of the first days spent in the studio.

Track from the new dreamily cinematic debut album on Northumberland label Cruel Nature Records. The Lost Letters are musician Benjamin H and Taiwanese folk singer Fulya, who started producing their brand of experimental lo-fi dream-pop music in 2023. Sounds like a deconstructed amalgam of Cocteau Twins, Papa M, Flying Saucer Attack and Broadcast. The band are playing shows in Taiwan and Poland over the summer.
