To celebrate the release of his debut on ESP Institute, the mysterious Black Orpheus label boss has provided a mix taking on multiple elements of UK rave. DECENNIUM23 - Paul Blackford (CPU, Militant Science)

The 23rd edition of our DECENNIUM series comes courtesy of UK legend; Paul Blackford (CPU, Militant Science).

Since his first EP in 2003 on DMX Krew's Breakin' Records, Paul Blackford has released regularly on various labels, evolving his sound from fast drum machine driven electronic funk to a more recent down tempo IDM Hip Hop flavour. This latter style has been especially apparent in Paul's newer releases, such as his widely acclaimed albums 'Light Years' and 'Betamax' for Sheffield giants, Central Processing Unit. 

Paul also founded his own label; Militant Science, in 2009, with the aim to bridge the gap between Electro & Drum n Bass. Notorious for it's high tempo, underground Machine Funk, Militant Science has gained reputable status in the underground scene.

Over the years Paul has performed live sets around the world, gained support from many contemporaries within the music industry and has also had airplay on both independent and mainstream radio stations. He has fully cemented his status as a pioneer in the electronic music world.

It has an honour to have Paul feature this meticulously crafted set for our DECENNIUM series, which was recorded exclusively for Natural Selection.
