For the first time here at Body Verse, we have not a DJ mix for you but a LIVE set! Our dear friends over at @awkscl and @sneakersocialclub were happy for us to share this powerful little live set from @willis-anne which he performed at their party on the 1st of May. We were so impressed and inspired to hear such unique rhythms! Is it footwork? Is it jungle? It's little bits of all of those and something entirely different at the same time. Willis Anne is an innovative composer and performer, taking us on a journey of beats with nothing other than his drum machine 🥁

Berlin often seems to be dominated by 4/4 techno but in our trip this week, we will enter the bass and breaks side with female combo Delma Ora. Claire and Elke formed the duo in 2017, shortly after realizing their shared passion & drive for setting the dance floor alight. Elke focusing mostly on Bass Music, Electro and Jungle and Claire with a background in Drum’n’Bass & Breaks, together their sets are bass heavy and energetic.

Standalone Series: Delma Ora (Berlin) - bass and breaks

2019 was another exciting year for us, filled with many highlights. If we had to think of one event though, it was our party in summer at ://about blank that was particularly special. As we've been massive fans of @E-Unity's classy productions for a long time now as well as regularly following his radio show, "@GDN-System" on Rinse France, we were beyond happy that we were able to convince him to come and play for us at one of our parties. Needless to say, Loïc's exceptional talent also shone through behind the decks of the beautiful Lobby floor, as he took us into the groove of the night with this remarkably well crafted warm-up set.

A self described “true optimist,” Berlin-based artist Elke radiates high-energy and a keen sense for unearthing cutting-edge releases from all over the globe.

As a staff member of the iconic Hard Wax record store in Kreuzberg, Elke has garnered an  impressive music collection and a knack for impeccable curations that has seen her find favour within the city’s fervent music scene. 

Making regular appearances at the Neukölln cornerstone Griessmuehle, Elke was also a resident at the Grimebox party series which hosted artists such as Darwin, Alinka, Klon Dump, Marc Schneider, Spencer Parker and more.  

With a penchant for playful electro, percussion-locked techno, jungle, and “stone-cold drumfunk”, Elke has also been a regular at About:Blank, & Paloma Bar - often times with Claire Hex as duo Fuzzy Concepts - as well as performing on Noods Radio and most recently HÖR Radio in May this year. 

You can also catch Elke and Claire Hex monthly on their Future Friends show on Radio 80000.
