My recording of an amazing adventure.

So I've been hanging on to this for a rainy day. I finally have a rough edit recording of one of the most fun shows I've ever attended. 

Let me paint this picture for you... It's Summer Camp 2013 on Saturday night. I'm rocking a poncho over me and my backpack with a mic on my shoulder strap. I'm walking up to the barn just getting dumped on (like we had been all weekend.). So I wait in line for awhile then finally enter the magic that is "The Red Barn". I try and get in a good position front and center immediately. Then get my poncho off and my glow Sticks out. I'm waiting for GrizMatik (Griz + Gramatik) to take stage as some BA background music plays... Then I realize... IM IN THE BARN! SURROUNDED BY AWESOME PEOPLE! HAVING AN ABSOLUTE BALL! PEOPLE WE'RE ROWDY AND READY! All the sudden people start taking stage and I see the guys from Big Gigantic. "WHAT THE HELL? SO NOW IT'S BIG GRIZMATIK?! AWESOME!!!" From the sound of their first note the crowd and myself were straight getting down! The time of my life!  

P. S. If the sound was a bit wobbly I'm sorry. I couldn't stop grooving out! Here's the highlight of my weekend... In its entirety!

so, this is my essential mix. i want to say a few things about it!

before writing "worlds", i'd been feeling kinda pessimistic about the future of electronic music. so once i was done writing "worlds" over the course of 2~ish years, i just felt the need to find new stuff that i loved. i did a ton of soundcloud digging, basically, and most of the music in this mix was music i found that way. that's not to say that there aren't classics or songs i've known for a while here, but it's mostly new music.

then BBC radio 1 asked me to do an essential mix, and it seemed like the perfect way to showcase new stuff i was into.

i also feel like it's important to point out that this mix isn't what the worlds tour is going to sound like, really - that tour is going to be only my own music. all originals. (also it's going to be a blast and a visual journey and other stuff i can't talk about yet ehehe).

On February 2nd, dance music titan Eric Prydz returned to the hallowed BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix decks, taking control of the airwaves for two hours of forward-thinking electronic music. This marked Prydz’ return to the Essential Mix show for the first time since late 2011, when it was recorded live from his set at Creamfields. The reaction to the show on Saturday was so big that it got the Essential Mix trending on Twitter on both sides of the Atlantic while it was being aired.
