Wigmore Allen Gibbons - Light The Lanterns

This is a tune from my favorite LP from this band called "A Deeper Understanding". Again you may not recognize it if you know the band, as my interpretation fits my style on a 6 string acoustic. I really like this song and itis fun to sing and easy to play on the guitar.

"Thinking of a Place” marks a subtle, focused return from the War on Drugs. Stretching out across 11 minutes, it is less a reintroduction than a reimmersion into Adam Granduciel’s spectral Americana. Nearly every aspect of the song is tenuous, either disappearing or located just beyond our grasp. Granduciel sings, “Love is like a ghost in the distance out of reach.” He warns us, “There’s a darkness over there/But we ain’t going.” He laments a lover who “vanished in the night” while he gazes at the Missouri River. The music shifts between ambient passages of synth and fuzzed-out guitar solos, neither building in intensity nor losing momentum. Instead, Granduciel sounds locked in perpetual motion, sometimes slowing down to observe his surroundings, and sometimes pushing forward and just letting it blur outside the window.

Thinking of a Place-The War on Drugs (Cover)

     Welcome everyone! This song is all about celebrating the NFL American Football and beer! This song can also be for Soccer as well since that sport is very similiar and is loved in Europe and South America. I used to hang out with all my friends every Sunday at BW3's for NFL football and beer pre-pandemic. My wife and I used to be in a few Fantasy Football Leagues and we all got together to watch all the games. My favorite teams are the Miami Dolphins and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Neither teams is looking pretty good this year but we'll have to wait and see. I used to love my Sundays at BW3's with friends and family, that is until the pandemic hit and then sadly we stopped going and when we were able to go back again, it just wasn't the same anymore. My wife and I both quit all our leagues and now we watch football just for the love of watching football. I loved it so much that I wrote this song about the experience. Charlie sang the song very well and played the harmonica too. All good things must come to an end, I guess!

I was very reluctant about dropping this video because my heart was breaking while listening to this song again. I know it's silly but we had such good times and good memories there for many years. But I got myself together and made the video a few weeks ago and worked very hard on it too! Took me about a week to finish it! When you watch the video you'll see how exciting it real was for me! It really was a glorious place!🥺 So join me in kicking off this 2025 season by lifting our glasses and cheering for the love of NFL football and Soccer! The games of kings! 🍺🍻

     Howdy everyone and I hope everyone had a great Labor Day, without laboring of course!😂 This is another of my instrumentals, which actually had lyrics but the vocals were not recorded too well so I made it into an instrumental. It's about having that Las Vegas experience which I'm sure nobody can afford anymore with this economy unless you're a billionaire! I've been to Vegas many times and most times I've lost, hence the title "Lost Wages"! I'm not a gambler, so when I lose a couple of hundred dollars I start sweating profusely!!😂 It's a fast paced song and I played like a boogie-woogie synthesizer on it and a rock guitar. Charlie played a groovy harmonica on it too! I've decided to drop an instrumental and a cover song every month from now on besides my normal songs and videos.      The video was a lot of fun to put together and it's all about Las Vegas, the gambling, the show girls, the drinking, the excesses, pretty decadent stuff! There's is a lot of eye-candy here for the grown-ups to enjoy! It drops tomorrow on YouTube! The original song with lyrics was called "My Neck Of The Woods" so if Charlie and I rerecord the vocals, I'll make a video of it as well. I hope everyone enjoys this song and video and remember, don't gamble unless you can afford to lose a ton of money and are rich because it is an addiction! Last time we went to Las Vegas, back before the pandemic, it was for about a week and all we saw were the shows and never gambled, that was my favorite trip because I didn't lose a dime! But guess what? We're going back to Las Vegas in December 2025 to watch the new "Wizard Of Oz" spectacular in The Sphere! Check out the clips on YouTube, it's really mind-blowing! No gambling!! This was a seed that Chris came up with on his acoustic guitar, adding beats, and some subtle vocals, then shared with Josh and Stephen. They are always excited to work on Chris' songs, because he always comes up with magical tunes.

  Josh was first in line, adding his five string fretless bass, then the organ part. Stephen used Josh's chord structure to come up with his awe-inspiring, monster electric sitar part. After they both laid down their parts, Chris added the electric guitar you hear at the beginning, too. 
  The song was about twice the current length when Chris made it, but Josh chopped off the second half, as the crescendo fits right into the 2/3 slot now. This was mixed as a team effort in BandLab, too, which is a rarity, given both Stephen and Chris are expert producers. 

  This is an example of a song Chris came up with, that was taken to the next level by Josh and Stephen. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

My earliest musical memories are of a small home on Williams Street, where my family moved when I was three. After dinner, my father would play hymns on his Conn organ, and I would sing along. That simple, shared ritual was my first introduction to music.

Our time at the organ came to an end a couple of years later when we moved, and my father's schedule became busier with teaching, pastoring, and graduate studies. I soon moved on to singing along to albums of musicals, and eventually, my mother became my first piano teacher. But I'll always remember that it was my father who first gave me a love for music. This piece is in his memory of him.
