Stranded

August 2025 Currently on residency in Italy ! 
These are 3 short sketches using field recordings captured around Montegiovi, Tuscany. With these little works I am experimenting freely with what can be produced from each days sounds -  manipulating them and stiching them back together with the aim of producing a long format work at the end of the residency. 
I am truly thankful for this opportunity that has been provided for me by the Salamanca Arts Centre in Tasmania and Cultivate Projects/La Baldi residency in Italy and The USA. 
And of course the wonderful people of Montegiovi ! 

Tuscany Experiments 1 - 3

This was a bit of a personal struggle. As a beginner cellist (1.5 years into playing) I decided to push the boundaries and perform the cello part of my piece myself. After many takes, a bit of post-processing and a lot of self-doubt this is the final result.
It‘s probably the most vulnerable piece of music I‘ve ever released and it was quite hard to let it go. So may it serve you well as consolation in times you need it and be shared among those who might need it.

The Wound That Time Won't Heal

“SILVORIS” drifts like a silver reflection over still waters, where lo-fi textures meet cinematic auroras. At ~74 BPM, the track unfolds slowly, layering gentle rhythms with airy harmonics in A#, creating a dreamscape of calm yet dynamic energy. The balanced stereo field lets every detail shimmer like light across a quiet lake, while a wide 31 dB dynamic range keeps the atmosphere alive and breathing. With its soft -18 LUFS loudness and warm headroom, the sound feels both intimate and expansive.

It’s music designed for late-night reflection, creative focus, or timeless wandering. Jazz undertones ripple beneath ambient currents, while subtle neo-soul phrasing adds depth and warmth. “SILVORIS” is not just a track, but a silver passage through sound and silence.

August 2025 . The residency has just finished, heading home soon to start work on developing a couple of long format works from all the sound captures. 
These are the 3rd batch of 3 short sketches using field recordings captured around Montegiovi, Tuscany. With these little works I am experimenting freely with what can be produced from each days sounds - manipulating them and stitching them back together with the aim of producing a long format work at the end of the residency. I have done maybe 20 or so  since the beginning of August. The idea is to have them done by the end of the day (or night) then move on to something fresh the next day.
I am truly thankful for this opportunity that has been provided for me by the Salamanca Arts Centre in Tasmania and Cultivate Projects/La Baldi residency in Italy and The USA.
And of course the wonderful people of Montegiovi !
