"You're all musicians, one of you must know a drummer!?" slurred a search-weary guitarist, sat with a group of trainee music teachers he'd met a few drinks earlier. "I'll do it" was the flippant response from the other end of the table. And thus the new era of The Lieutenant's Mistress began. 

Based in both Brighton and London, the 4 piece's sound draws influence from traditional indie music. Taking cues from groups like The Smiths, The Shins, The Cribs and Oasis but adding elements of folk, rock and even krautrock, The Lieutenant's Mistress have become as well known for the quality of their songs as for their lively stage performances. 

The group, formed in early 2007 by Andrew Motley, Matt Geary and Louis May, met at secondary school and have remained close friends ever since. The final member, beer garden recruit Simon "Box" Hudson, is the perfect compliment to the group in terms of personality and versatility. Razor sharp timings, harmony vocals and the use of the trumpet to enhance the traditional vocal, guitar, bass and drums arrangement adds a dimension that separates them from ordinary indie bands. 

Since forming, the band have released a self-titled EP through i-Tunes, and are preparing for the release of their follow-up, The WIRED EP, in February 2009. They have received BBC Radio airplay and been interviewed on Juice 107. Live they have toured the Northwest of England; played festivals in Brighton, Birmingham and the Sussex Countryside; and supported Frightened Rabbit, Gravenhurst and Thao with the Get Down, Stay Down. 

Mexico Indigo are a band from London, Stuart Camara (vocals, guitar), Matt Kingston (bass, vocals) and Phil Kingston (drums, percussion).


The Lash are a 45,000 RPM rock & soul hurricane from Newport, South Wales, UK, featuring the astonishing vocal talents of Erin McNamara and former 60ft Dolls drummer Carl Bevan behind the kit and on production duties.

August Gone

Straight outta St Clements, fronted by bassist, singer and songwriter Alexandra Le Monnier, August Gone has quite literally gone from being a pandemic enforced remote collaboration to a three-piece live act bursting with rock ‘n’ roll energy, with skilled guitarist Alex Pitt and Leon Bouhaire bringing the thunder on drums to complete the line up.
A smorgasbord of influences serving up slices of grunge, rock, metal, country, funk and a mild dash of pop create a uniquely fresh, deliciously vintage vibe.

In early 2022, August Gone delivered their first set of original, self-produced songs in the form of EP ‘Four Leaf Clover’ available on all major streaming platforms, closely followed by the release of music video and single ‘Apathy’, filmed and directed by the highly regarded and talented local filmmaker Philip Clyde-Smith.

With plenty more songs in the offing and more upcoming releases, the band’s focus has now turned to bringing their sound to the stage for your viewing and aural pleasure.
