The Ottoman Empire was a state that controlled much of Southeastern Europe, Western Asia, and Northern Africa between the 14th and early 20th centuries. It was founded at the end of the 13th century in northwestern Anatolia in the town of Söğüt (modern-day Bilecik Province) by the Turkoman tribal leader Osman I.
After 1354, the Ottomans crossed into Europe and with the conquest of the Balkans, the Ottoman beylik was transformed into a transcontinental empire. The Ottomans ended the Byzantine Empire with the conquest of Constantinople in 1453 by Mehmed the Conqueror.
That much history for the moment. If you are a label follower, you might know that our virtual globetrotter PASSENGER 10 sometimes takes us places far away and often times even back in time. Since we're approaching this year's Christmas Chris aka Passenger 10 takes us back to the times when the Ottomans were the undisputed leaders of the economic world and having one of the most fearful army of that time.
Before we are taking this way too far, let's just send you off on a journey and experience modern progressive house music blended with traditional Turkish and Ottoman instruments, such as the Oud, a Ney flute and a Sitouki guitar.

RC110 marks the return and collaboration of two label favourites, close friends and local legends – Tom Baker and Unknown Concept. A year in the making, we are proud to present you with the 2 track Ambidextrous EP, featuring the title record and the secondary, Nocturne.

When you look at the make up of any musical composition there are so many elements to consider. The instrumentation and space of your record, what specific pieces you decide to blend together, at what point they develop over the course of your arrangement and in what place across this spectrum do your elements either thrive on their own or shine all together.

Two artists being 'Ambidextrous' can be loosely translated to the concept of balance. The ability to be able to rely upon each element you piece together to speak to, relate and ultimately balance out your entire composition.

Tom Baker and Unknown Concept have drawn from their own unique styles and characteristics within their music to build a dark and ominous EP which will no doubt take you late in the night.

Nocturne is a low-slung progressive number, where you can feel the low end move you throughout the arrangement. A testament to both artists design and element selection.

Disco Gecko series presents Framewerk and a dj set celebrating the release of their remixes of Banco de Gaia's Obsidian on the Capital Heaven label. Framewerk (aka Darren James and Alec Milliner) have been long establishing an eclectic electronic style that defies genres yet maintains a deep distinctive atmosphere throughout all their music. With influences ranging from 70’s prog rock to 80’s electro, the duo both found a home in the UK acid house scene of the late 80’s and later joined together to form the group “Manhattan” during the mid-90’s progressive house era. These decades of dedicated development and unrelenting passion have kept Darren and Alec continuously at the forefront of the underground electronic music scene. Their work today as “Framewerk” showcases their diverse styles and innate abilities to create and share music that represents the best of the golden eras with a fresh, modern sound all their own.
