After a relentless 2013, German beatsmith, Thomas Gold, is ready to unleash his long-awaited single, 'Remember', arriving on October 28th via Axtone Records.

'Remember' is the long awaited Axtone follow up to the Beatport #1 reaching 'Sing 2 Me' as well as the 'Axtone Presents Thomas Gold' compilation. 'Remember' describes the story of a couple spending the night out and experiencing the beauty of the morning sunrise together. On it, arpeggiated violins soar beautifully into Kaleyn Behr's vocals, before gradually build up to a crescendo crammed with unrivalled elation and energy.

It's been an amazing run for the Berlin native, with his global radio show, Fanfare, churning out the best of Thomas' favourite tracks. He also saw his remix of 'Set Fire To The Rain' by globally renowned songstress, Adele, rack up over 15 million views. Thomas has also been working closely with both Otto Knows and Deniz Koyu for a set of upcoming projects.

Australian-born Kaelyn has landed several platinum records and major awards back home and he co-wrote the track. He also supplied the vocals to the Aston Shuffle vs Tommy Trash 'Sunrise (Won't Get Lost)' that became a ubiquitous presence internationally and had crowds chanting its euphoric topline. In addition to Sunrise and several high charting Australian releases, Kaelyn has appeared on major label releases from Wiley ('Tomorrow'), The Aston Shuffle ('Can't Stop Now') and the recent Hype Machine-topping collaboration with The Knocks and St Lucia, Modern Hearts. 마제스틱 앤 사이온즈는 한국을 대표하는 디제이/프로듀싱 팀이다. 디제이 매거진(DJ Magazine) 투표 39위를 기록한 세계적인 대형 클럽 엘루이(Ellui)에서 레지던트 디제이를 맡아왔으며, 이들 중 사이온즈는 디제이 한민(DJ Hanmin), 디제이 쿠(DJ Koo) 등 한국을 대표하는 프로듀서들의 음악을 비트포트(Beatport)에 유통하는 국내의 대표 EDM 레이블 WSR Trax 의 오너다. 두 사람은 하우스/테크노의 1세대 클럽인 홍대 조커레드 출신이란 공통점을 갖고 있으며 각자 개인으로써도 국내의 대형 EDM 페스티벌 메인 라인업에 포함되는 큰 존재감을 가진 이들이다. 이들이 올해 봄에 듀오 결성을 발표했고, 4월에 'Alive'를 발표하며 화려한 데뷔를 알렸다. 이들은 급부상 중인 한국 EDM 씬의 심장부에 있는 주인공들이다. 
'Kick it'은 두 사람이 한 그룹으로 뭉친 뒤 발표하는 두 번째 싱글이다. 이번에는 특별히도 WSR의 신인 프로듀서 다운푸어(Downpour)가 함께했다. 사이온즈의 레슨을 통해 인연을 맺었다는 그는 앞으로도 꾸준히 곡을 발표하며 프로듀서로 활동할 예정이라 한다.
'Kick it'은 마제스틱 앤 사이온즈가 추구하는 빅 룸 계열의 프로그레시브 하우스(Progressive House)다. 이 계열에서 자주 등장하는 거대한 'Supersaw' 사운드로 장중하게 메인 테마를 두드린다. 빌드업은 드라마틱하고, 사운드의 폭은 장중하다. 제목과 드랍에 쓰인 "Kick it"은 발로 차고 전진하는 느낌을 표현해본 것이라 한다.
얼마 전까지만 해도 EDM 씬은 제드(Zedd), 포터 로빈슨(Porter Robinson), 알레소(Alesso) 등이 크게 부각되며 팝에 필적할 감성적 멜로디를 추구하는 경향을 보였으나 최근엔 다시 원시적 에너지와 심플한 드랍으로 회귀하는 모양새다. 마제스틱 앤 사이온즈는 예전부터 이러한 '플로어용' 몬스터 드랍을 추구해왔으며 이번 곡에서도 그 애티튜드와 에너지는 여전하다.
국내 실정이나 대중성만을 추구했다면 한국의 클러버들이 전통적으로 좋아해온 더치 하우스(Dutch House)나 라인 댄스 유발 EDM을 만들었을 것이다. 하지만 다소 어둡고 지독한 톤의 에픽 성향을 유지하는 것은 그들의 눈이 국내의 작은 시장보다도 세계의 무대를 향하고 있기 때문일 것이다. 짧은 역사의 한국 EDM 씬이 비트포트 상위권을 의도적으로 겨냥한 곡을 꾸준히 내놓고 실제로도 그 수준에 바짝 다가가고 있다는 사실은 대단히 놀랍다.
리믹스에 참여한 숀(Shaun)은 록 밴드 칵스(Koxx)의 멤버였던 그 숀이다. 그는 칵스의 멤버들이 군입대로 흩어진 사이 EDM 프로듀서 겸 디제이로 활약 중이다. 이미 칵스를 벗어나 다양한 작곡, 프로듀싱을 활동으로도 두각을 나타내고 있는 그는 클럽 디 에이(The A)의 레지던트를 맡으며 디제이 분야에서도 재능을 인정받고 있다. 숀의 리믹스는 원곡의 정직한 포 투 더 플로어(Four To The Floor) 리듬을 더 자유롭고 현란한 아프로 비트로 재해석해 새로운 매력을 끌어내고 있다.
한국의 데이비드 게타(David Guetta), 스웨디시 하우스 마피아(Swedish House Mafia)를 목표로 하는 이들의 프로듀싱 실력은 날로 발전하고 좋아지고 있다. 사이온즈는 스티브 우(Steve Wu)와 콜라보했던 2012년 '303 shake'로 세계적인 EDM 음원사이트 트랙잇다운(Trackitdown)에서 추천 트랙에 선정된 경력도 있다. 한국의 일류 클럽들과 페스티벌 무대를 누비고 있는 지금처럼, 세계 무대에서 인정과 러브콜을 받을 날도 그리 멀지만은 않은 것 같다. 이들의 도전과 끝없는 노력에 존경과 응원을 보낸다.

In what is sure to be the highlight of the well-received podcast series thus far, Axtone Records rounds off 2015 by welcoming owner and talisman Axwell, to the airwaves of ‘Axtone Presents’. Episode fifteen comes alongside Axtone’s tenth anniversary with an accompanying slew of new singles, vinyl, 52 page hardback book, and limited edition box set.

To jumpstart the podcast, Axwell enlists Swedish newcomer Klahr’s rendition of Adrian Lux’s ‘Torn Apart’. Progressing into a selection of influential Trance classics, Axwell evokes the names of artists such as Armand Van Helden, Stardust, and long-time friend Bob Sinclar as inspiration, later citing ‘This Time’ from supergroup Axwell Λ Ingrosso as a personal favourite production.

As it progresses into a 30-minute mix chock-full of infamous Ax edits, listeners and fans alike will notice Axwell’s diverse track selection and appreciation for all things music.
