Paul Solaris Info:

Born Trevor Tshepo Makamane on 16th March 1985, Paul Solaris grew up in Alexandra Township, north of Johannesburg. Young and polite but not apologetic for his musical talents. Paul Solaris is undoubtedly a producer/deejay at heart, passionate about the art form and god. Started dj’ing at the age of 12 years using tape decks, young Paul knew he had found his love for music.

He started producing in 2005 before he enrolled at a music school (2006) to learn the piano and more about music. In 2008 he went to study for a diploma in Sound Engineering, during that year he managed to take second place in the Axe remix competition hosted by DJU and YFM at the Southern African Music Conference, ever since that moment Paul has never looked back and had his music listed on the Hot 99 dance show hosted by Oskido on Yfm. In 2009 he released a 3 track single (REFLECTIONS) which was playlisted on all relevant radio stations. He aims to take the South African dance music standard to a greater level. He is god’s gift to house music. “One thing I love about house music is that, I can go to unknown dimensions of expression and still remain simple”.



THE FUTURE

Paul Solaris is the founder of the record label Headroom Entertainment, which also hosts opportunities to young aspiring music producers. He has released an album (HEADROOM ORIGINALS) in may 2011 with Dj Spinno which is an umixed house compilation of Headroom’s finest house producers.
His music can also be found on digital stores like Afrodesiamp3, Junodownload, Djdownload, Mixmag and other sites. The future looks bright for the young man and his label Headroom Entertainment.

It was a truly busy summer for Parov Stelar. His 5th studio album "The Princess" was a success and tickets for his shows all over the world were on heavy demand. After an exhausting summer of touring, with dozens of sold out shows, it´s now time to make a brief stop, take a deep breath and look back. Parov Stelar has chosen is a series of three remix EPs as the perfect way to reflect. In this series he and colleagues have been searching for new aspects in his sounds and reinterpreting his music. Every EP follows it´s own path and carves out some unique details.

Part one of the three-part series presents two remixes by Parov Stelar himself. Both the classic Parov Stelar track "L.O.V.E." as well as "Oh Yeah", which is from Stelar´s latest album, have been given a high gloss finish for "The Remix and Re-Edit Trilogy Part 1/3". "L.O.V.E." mutates from a rocking breakbeat monster to a chilled disco-house track with a perfect summer feel.  "Oh Yeah" has also been given the disco treatment by cranking it up a notch and creating much more pressure for the dancefloor than the album version.

The further parts of the trilogy will be released over the autumn.

Following the success of his huge collaboration on ‘Calling (Lose My Mind)’ with young protégé Alesso, Refune founder and label boss Sebastian Ingrosso has teamed up with one of Australia's favourite sons, Tommy Trash, for new track ‘Reload’. Such a pairing between two of dance music’s biggest characters was never going to produce anything other than a future anthem, and the track is already smashing floors all over the world.

On ‘Reload’ these two titans join forces to showcase a dynamic blend of styles, utilizing their ample studio experience to its fullest as they break new ground. At once muscular and melodic, the fusion of these two producers‘ talents is fresh, exciting and nothing short of exceptional. While the galloping drums and pulsing, distorted bassline ensure that energy is kept at fever pitch throughout, the emotive melody is able to build to its climax in a wave of soaring synths.

‘Reload’ is the latest installment in what has been a stellar year for Sebastian Ingrosso’s Refune label.
