This demo has existed as little fragments of music for years, but I finally managed to piece them all together into one cohesive track. It turned into more of a full battle arc than a simple battle theme - again - and I embrace it.

Following the trend of most of my projects, it began as a second battle theme for a game idea, but grew into something much more personal. It made me realize the feeling I most want to evoke in listeners - anemoia: A nostalgia for something one has never known. I want to capture that strange warmth of remembering worlds that never really existed — a reflection of the great games and composers of the past, yet still entirely my own.

At the same time, there was also a sense of sadness that came over me every now and then when making this, for the countless ideas, worlds, and stories that will never see the light of day and remain a twinkle in someone’s eye. An endless graveyard of unrealized ideas. No lives changed. No hearts touched. Not even a chance to be forgotten.

So sit back, close your eyes, and picture a battle scene from your imagination -and maybe pour one out for all the wonders of the world that never came to be.
