Node Recordings returns with another great collection of techno tracks on the Falling Textures EP. The Spanish Label, with its very coherent identity in titles, artwork, and sound, presents another 5-track EP that celebrates techno.

Our premiere track is from none other than Italian mental techno expert and Acquario resident Viels. “Exponential” is a testament to Viels’ mind-boggling and energetic high-class techno. Staying true to the hypnotic realms of the genre, the track also has an industrial and highly generative appeal. The track’s specialty lies in the intriguing interplay of two distinct sound elements that haunt you from both near and far, and this is the absolute strength of this track. Talking about captivating music and how a sense of hypnosis might be created: here we have a perfect example of it. “Exponential” is carried by powerful waves of sound that instill a spiraling and exponential effect, playing with the listener’s mind. This track is engineered to sweep you away into other spheres, only to bring you back and sweep you away again.

The 5-tracker “Falling Textures” will be released on May 29th and features tracks from talent like Acaera, Aögram, RPTLS, and Sam Wilson.

As recent scientific studies (ANITA) suggest, our planet Earth might also be producing some strange "upward going" cosmic waves of particles that are not accounted in the Standard Model. So far, nobody knows what is the source of those game changing particles randomly observed. Random discoveries are the best a scientist could hope for. Taking a step back, this hope and curiosity of the unknown could also be the driving forces that pushed Soviet Union explorer to launch the SG3 project in 1970. Their goal was to drill earth’s crust as deep as possible to get a better understanding of our home structure and composition.

For the third release of Cosmic Wave Records, commands are given to techno artist Vardae for a journey into planet Earth deepest borehole: SG3. Starting from Level 0 (0m) in 1970, the first two tracks of the EP emphasize the hope and curiosity that soviet drillers could feel when they started drilling, using uplifting and peaceful harmonies on pads conducted by subtle rhythms and groovy basses. As the journey goes on into the mists of the deep, Vardae vision takes the listener to darker places, using a nice balance of cycling rhythms and mental atmospheres, with a touch of sparkling acid lines. It is year 1989 when, under extreme conditions (180°C), the drillers reaches the deepest place of planet Earth so far: minus 12 262 meters.The four original compositions are packed with two remixes from CWR residents. KLI.M proposes a stripped back and percussive oriented remix of Level 0, Diapasøn takes the listener to his own deep, remixing 12 262, with dark resonant synth sustained by trippy grooves.

Our 8th release is about to see the light with another newcomer to the label. We are now back to France with one of the most talented producers from Lyon, KLI.M, who immerges us in his spacey world, from driven techno beats to more dubby atmospheres. 

While two of the songs 'Another way out' and 'Space parrot' are leading by percussive grooves and hypnotic pads which put you among a mystical forest, 'Cosmic dub' is more an odd to roots of Detroit techno with that big chord bringing you into another dimension. Finally, it seems to becoming the norm as label co-founder Vardae is taking the remix duty for another time. As usual, he delivers a remix with his own vision of the techno he loves.
