Acid house (also simply known as just "acid") is a subgenre of house music developed around the mid-1980s by DJs from Chicago. The style is defined primarily by the squelching sounds and basslines of the Roland TB-303 electronic bass synthesizer-sequencer, an innovation attributed to Chicago artists Phuture and Sleezy D circa 1986.

Acid house soon became popular in the United Kingdom and continental Europe, where it was played by DJs in the acid house and later rave scenes. By the late 1980s, acid house had moved into the British mainstream, where it had some influence on pop and dance styles.

Acid house brought house music to a worldwide audience. The influence of acid house can be heard in later styles of dance music including trance, hardcore, jungle, big beat, techno and trip hop.

Jara is a spanish DJ deeply passionate about music, a love she’s had since her early years, when she listened to bands like Depeche Mode and started playing the piano. Born in the Basque Country and now based in Madrid, her journey into the electronic music scene has been a natural evolution.

After years of absorbing the sounds of her favorite DJs and producers, she made her mark in Madrid’s music scene in 2022. Since then, she’s played at well-known clubs in the city, such as Café Berlín, Ballesta Club, El Sótano, ART Club, Hangar48, and many more, as well as in other regions of Spain, including the Basque Country, Murcia, Burgos, and Navarra.

Her style is elegant and diverse, flowing and blending melodic elements with deep grooves and powerful rhythms. Jara's musical path was first influenced by seeing Hernan Cattaneo for the first time at Woodstock69 in Bloemendaal and John Digweed at Mondo in Madrid, experiences that really marked and inspired her. Over time, Jara has developed her style within the Melodic House and Progressive House genres.

Jara expresses herself through music more than words. She spends time carefully selecting each track to ensure a deep connection with the crowd. Jara creates a unique and elegant mix which flows naturally on the dancefloor.

Eager to keep evolving, she’s currently expanding her skills by learning to produce her own tracks.

Czech producer Sonority makes his debut on Dutch imprint Manual Music with Letting Go, a collaboration with his student and vocalist Katarina Demska (aka Katska).
