EP 2 off the hues project is made up of songs that fit the mold of being downtempo, r&b/soul songs. These songs arguably mean the most to me as they deal the most with love. Past relationship nuance and nostalgia are at the forefront of these tracks as I continue to find an equilibrium between cherishing what was and being confident in what's to come.

EP 1 (red, orange, yellow) - The first EP off the HUES project is entirely produced by the east coast mastermind, EZEKEY. I fell in love with his lo-fi production last summer and started writing to many of his beats right when I heard them. It felt right to start the entire project with this set of songs because they are a bit more fiery and visceral. There's more political and social commentary trickled into these tracks, and they are more rap-laden than the later sets of songs. From references ranging from Jesse Pinkman to Noam Chomsky and Carl Sagen, there's a touch of content for most on this project. Pairing these songs with this collection of hues was comfortable, as the sounds bring out these colors and feel from me when listening

EP 2 (purple, pink, deep red) - The second EP is comprised of songs that are considered more R&B or downtempo. This portion is in essence the heartbeat of the project, the feelings, the journey through love and unlove, the joy in small recollections, the fond memories, the random reminders. With two songs by Shrimpnose and the other producers from Oregon, the UK, and Australia, there's a wide range of sounds that all cater to a falsetto tone and melodic delivery. The artwork from Annika has all the right coloration and feel to accompany this collection of songs, and they are admittedly some of the closest works to my heart

EP 3 (blues) - The third EP is made up of tracks that all feature another emcee or vocalist from Minnesota. The hues for this project symbolize the vast similitude that we are all navigating, somewhat like an ocean. The tracks have differing sounds from traditional hip-hop, to jazzy rap, and smooth r&b while maintaining a togetherness and harmony. Each song will showcase a different producer and the features include deM atlaS, Spencer Joles, Nick Jordan, Tony the Scribe and Rich Garvey

EP 4 (green, brown) - The fourth and final EP in the hues project is entirely self-produced. These songs have an extra added sentiment for me, as I not only wrote words for the beats, but also constructed the sounds from scratch. I don't use samples in my production and it sometimes comes off a bit more raw, but I always find to be a fun challenge to be entirely responsible for a song. I wanted to be sure to include a portion of the project that I produced, even though I don't consider myself the caliber producer as my mates on the rest of the project, I felt it's important to as an indicator for us to lend ourselves credibility in places we don't often place an emphasis. The hues for this project are encouraging, motivational, inspiring, and reassuring, yet vulnerable

track 4 off the first EP in hues, like the wind, interweaves a couple didactic verses to self from aYm with some Carl Sagen philosophizing. touching on how materialism can grow to divide us, aYm's presence over this lushous  ezekeY beat is an intriguing and wondrous fit.

freetime, the final track on the ezekeY X aYm EP is the most R&B/Soul ridden track on the first set of songs on hues. being more downtempo than the rest, it opens up space for aYm to utilize some arching melodies and harmonies, while reminding himself to let go of the bad days. they come and go.
