••• So this weeks experiment is actually exactly one year + 4 days old. Recorded on the modular at my school, just a few weeks before the lockdown in Denmark started. 
This is my first, and to be honest, only time i have used a modular on my own. Remember the experience as having a lot of mixed feelings. Didn't have a clue what i was doing and easily got very confused, but when i suddenly got something out of it that sounded just a bit nice, i almost jumped up from the chair out of excitement 😂
Anyway, i got sucked into this magical modular world for about 5 hours, loosing track of time completely!

Following the arrival of their debut album ‘Alterazione’, LF58 (F.Scorcucchi and G.Tillieci) are back on Astral Industries with a special trove of outer-space explorations. Recorded one evening back in April 2019 as a live performance at Rome’s Brancaleone, the eponymously titled album offers a sprawling journey across the pan-dimensional ether. Spread across six sides of vinyl, the performance includes fully improvised material as well as choice selections from Simone Giudice, Jonas Kopp, Nuel, Birds of Prey, Rapoon, Steve Roach and Adham Shaikh. There is no doubt that the unique energy and circumstances of the evening contribute to a certain atmosphere present in the music.

With seemingly no beginning nor end, the session emerges in suspension; an electric ocean of infinite deepness. Gleaming across the patter of galaxies on a wide black backdrop, its myriad vistas are projected like transitioning scenes of an unending story. The gentle tide brings with it specks of cosmic debris and mysterious signals. Soon, quiet drones are overtaken by ripples of solar flare and percussive clamours. Forms melt like liquid, a ball of amorphous plasma pulsating with ecstatic radiance. Prying open universe within universe, ‘Live at Brancaleone’ has a vastness that cannot really be contained.

This soundtrack is an ode to the transformative power of change. It is a reminder that, like nature, our lives are in a constant state of flow. The track is designed to channel the energy of transformation and change, which can be difficult, scary, or challenging, but ultimately helps us to constantly improve and grow.

The frequencies of 741Hz, 417 Hz, 528 Hz, and 852 Hz are used to help expand the mind, facilitate change, create miracles, and return to spiritual order. The track is meant to remind us that we are all part of the universe and as long as we live in harmony with it, we will overcome any challenges. Disconnection from the higher power and nature may feel like a state of dis-ease, but this track is a reminder that we are all connected and that change is a natural part of life.

[Savvas Kalt Mix Series #1] "Galactic Ways" [PsyAmbient / Deep Trance Mix]

This month’s guest mix in Sofa Beats series was recorded by AYO.

AYO’s sound is taking you on a journey into a world of dreamy soundscapes, drone subs, small creaky details, long evolving pads and slow beats. Through scandinavian forests, white mountains and northern lights into a world where we communicate and connect without words.
By sampling sitars-violins-cellos, modulating FM synths, incorporating field recordings and playing around with raw data and noise, AYO attempts to create a timeless bubble of calm atmospheric sounds, that gently yet persistently makes ones mind and body drift towards a fundamental earthly connection.
AYO is the solo project of Julie Schønherr Rosengreen. Julie has been playing the violin as a kid both playing classical and a bit of folk music, but also composing her own and playing around with different combinations of melodies. As she grew older she began appreciating electronic music and later on started composing her own tunes.

Not long after she startet producing, she got her first festival gig in Denmark and have since then been active in the Danish chill scene, playing at festivals like Senpati, Sensun, Shiva Spirit and multiple events. Abroad she has played in countries like Nepal, Morocco, Germany, Spain, Lithuania etc. This includes festivals such as Freqs of Nature, Transition festival and Gaia gathering.
Currently she is studying for her bachelor in Sound Design at Sonic College in Denmark. But earlier she has also been doing electronic music and VJ courses at Frontsession in Aarhus and Engelsholm College for Arts and Music.

••• this is the first episode of my "Sunday Sound Experiments" series. Something i started just as a little "hygge" project, to show you a bit of what i do when i search for new material, get to know a new synth or plugin, record with different types of microphones, try off composition techniques or get an assignment from friends, school mates or teachers.
These episodes are gonna be released on sundays, maybe not all sundays but as many as possible and for as long as its fun. They are mostly gonna be non mastered and not too polished either, to give a more authentic and raw picture of my creative process.
••• The first episode is made only with the plugin Pigments from Arturia. A little gift i got not long ago from one of my dearest and closest.
The experiment contains one sequencer, one pad and one sub.

SUNDAY SOUND EXPERIMENTS NO. 1 - Marry me Arturia Pigments

𝗦𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗡𝗢. 2 - 𝘓𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦
••• This week in sound art school (Hogwarts) we had about different minimalistic composition techniques.
Somehow this didn't feel that unfamiliar to me. I never really intentionally used techniques like phasing and note addition or heard about metamorphosis and augmentation, but using some of these to compose with, wasn't very far from the way I already do it. 
For sure, it made me understand even more about how much i love the simple, the repetitive and the "telling about everything with almost nothing". 
It seems like sounds become even bigger when they stand alone.
This experiment is made with Pigments using the techniques drone, phasing and ostinato.

••• This weeks sound experiment is actually more than 6 months old. Just when the covid-19 lockdown startet in Denmark back in march some of my school mates, me and a teacher startet giving each other assignments. 
So my friend Laura's assignment to all of us was  "How does the night sound". 
This experiment is supposed to show the phase from going to bed, hearing the sound of the room and slowly falling asleep, diving into our other reality - our dreams.
It is made with recordings of me playing violin, a flowerpot that sounds like a singing bowl, a wooden whisk and a bamboo straw, massive and pigments.

••• These are the days of great transformation. I think it is for all of us, both globally but also personally. We see our own worst sides and we also see the best. We have a choice of what to keep in our lives and what to leave behind. The second lockdown is on and the corona madness is peaking more than ever, the winter solstice is just around the corner and tomorrow the great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn is happening. 
While all this intens energy are at its highest, i would like to do a little repost in this episode of my sunday sound experiments. A piece i did back in march when the first lockdown started here in Denmark. A reminder of how beautiful our mother earth can be and how she would sound when feeling the best. Maybe also a reminder of how beautiful we can be both as individuals but also together.
Because we, our planet and the universe are all one i believe.
This one is made with Omnisphere, the sound of a river and various animal sounds i found on Soundly.

••• On this last sunday of the year i decided to stay in bed all day, cuddling a bit with Ableton and this super nice free plugin called Wolno, i got a while ago.
Here in Denmark its raining and storming full power! Not very cozy winter vibes to be honest... but a good excuse to stay indoor and create my own little winter wonderland.

AYO is the solo project of danish composer, producer and sound artist Julie Schønherr Rosengreen.
AYO has been touring all over Europe since 2015. She has been playing in Morocco and The United States.
Some of the festivals she performed at includes Boom Festival, Ozora Festival, Freqs of Nature festival, Anthropos, Hadra and The Rendezvous - Tipper&Friends in Florida.
She has been performing for The Danish National Bank, at the beautiful Thorvaldsens Museum in Copenhagen, composed music for the theater play “Anna Walk With Me” and currently she is working both with installation art and performance art, making interactive and generative sound with plants, water and the human body. 
In 2020 she released her debut album Moto on Sofa Beats records. This was followed by several single & compilation releases on labels like Microcosmos records, Altar records and the danish female label SØNTH collective.
Her second album is soon due for release.

AYO strives to send a message of a more harmonious cohesion with nature, with each other and with ourselves. By incorporating nature elements into her performance, she tries to give nature back the voice it has lost. Giving the listener a chance to emphasise with it, by letting plants and water generate the sounds they hear, in an always evolving and generative pattern, which makes every performance new and unique.
Combining that with playing live hardware synths and her classical influenced compositions, the listener is presented with an experience of nature meeting electronics and the deeper emotional self -floating in to a world of dreamy and melodic soundscapes, dynamic pads, processed foleys and recorded ambience.
AYO has been playing and composing music since she was a child. With a background as a violinist and as a classical musician, the ambient genre was later a place where she felt at home and where she could express and unfold herself freely. 
She has a bachelor degree in electronic music and sound art from The Danish National Academy of Music. Here she has honed her expression and further developed her "voice" in order to be able to stand stronger with her message and vision.
