Ubuntu, which means humanity in Zulu and describes an African philosophy, reflects Shahrokh’s explicit statement in these wrecked political times. The superb re-work by mastermind David Mayer elevates the original to a deep, mystic and lush afrosphere...

Shahrokh Dini left Karlsruhe, while he is even more active than ever in his old and new basecamp Berlin. Not even that he played a lot of nice gigs during summer (Amsterdam, few times on Ibiza, lot of gigs in Berlin, Italy, Corfu, Sardinia), he is also busy in the studio with several releases and remixes (btw.: one for Compost artist Felix Laband).

After the first release of his new activities: “Now We Can Dance” with the strong and lovely vocals by Illinois, here comes the follow-up “Ubuntu” with a lush David Mayer re-work.

For both releases we can announce stunning remixes by Lehar (Diynamic Music, Connaisseur Recordings), David Mayer (formerly Keinemusik, Ouïe), Apoena (Freerange), Omer Tayar (The Gardens of Babylon/Tel Aviv), Patrick Zigon (Biotop, Traumraum), Tooker (Ouïe, Crosstown Rebels), Kovi and others, which will be out on vinyl, too.

This two-track release focuses on electronic music’s future direction while giving a tasteful nod to the past. Following their album 'Murmurations', Jas Shaw of Simian Mobile Disco has remixed all 12 tracks off the LP for the 'Re-Murmurations' release. Today we hear the first listen of the first mix of 'Caught In A Wave' off the album, one of the first releases from Shaw after he was diagnosed with AL amyloidosis, a rare and serious condition that affects blood cells in the bone marrow (http://www.amyloidosis.org.uk). After initial weeks in treatment, Jas was able to return to the studio and create 'Re-Murmurations', which will be out September 28 via Wichita Recordings. Ouïe Circle is the new sub-label of Ouïe, the left-of-center label run by party legends Nico Stojan and Acid Pauli. 
With this new imprint, Ouïe Circle provides an additional playground for new talents and an outlet for more experimental music from established artists. The idea was drawn from plans for future Ouie label parties where the DJs or artists perform in the middle of the dancefloor, surrounded by the audience, creating an intimate vibe free of classic gig cliches. 

David Mayer, (who made his debut on Ouïe 2018 with his well perceived ‚The Call‘ EP) is first up - dropping two tracks created especially for this project. 

'Circle' is a dancefloor friendly psychedelic after-party jam built around a persistent rhythm, tricky percussion and an affecting vocal by Bastien Picot that gets heavily processed as the track develops.

'Pi' has a similar approach - an infectious, loopy groove, eventually giving way to synth melodies and crunchy percussive hits.
