To celebrate the arrival of spring in the southern hemisphere, we gathered together to breath, to sing and to dance. The night started with Yasmeen Clark and Jonathan Spark introduced us gently dropping into the sacred and divine, followed by Anada’s Kirtan Wave then into 75 min of ecstatic dance. I am grateful to witness the power of ecstatic dance in our new and old ecstatic dance friends again.
 
This set was inspired by the change of season. After a deep rest in the cold dark winter, I noticed there is outward energy within me that is ready to reach out to the light. It’s time to follow this energy to cultivate our vision and dreams. Ecstatic dance is a great way to move the stagnant qi in our body that cloud vision, so we forget our purpose in this life. 

In traditional Chinese Medicine, Spring is the season of the wood element. Wood energy is strong, persistent and filled with creative potential. This set reflects the wood energy and the songs are all in the keys of E (wood), C# (Liver) or C (Gallbladder), which are associated with the wood element.
