Asayehegn (Ayu) has been behind the scene of the Ethiopian Music Industry for more than 15 years. As a young kid growing up in Addis where Ethiopian Music from the golden era was played everywhere, little did he know that it would influence him to the extent that he would quit his job on the first day after graduating from University to pursue his dream, Music. Since 1997 he was active in the night life of Addis music scene for few years until he moved to the United States in 2003. That was about the time when he started to plant the seed his very first album. Since then, he collaborated with none other than Yohannes Tona who is arguably one of the upcoming exciting musician/bass extraordinaire of Ethiopia. Together they created a crossover sound, Ethiosoul which is inspired by Mahmoud Ahmed, Aster Awoke Teddy Tadesse and many more.
