The World Over podcast is back after taking most of the Spring, Summer and Fall off to focus and play gigs IRL. In show 39, I share some of the darker, fast-paced, harder genres that I've played during my sets this year. We start by taking the sound to NEWARK for some sure shot dance floor friendly, JERSEY CLUB then to DURBAN for Amapiano's older and more aggressive cousin, GQOM. My 30-ish minute offering for Vocalo's Friday Night DJ Series that aired on 91.1 FM Chicago on 4/7/23. I've done a number of mixes for Vocalo over the years and this one really captures my lived experience as a DJ the best. While it features current music, the sounds span back to my early years as a DJ playing house music to now more global offerings and the sounds that are heavily influenced by house music. I had a lot of fun putting this one together.

This is the SECOND installment of the I Will House U series. 
Chicago is the birth place of HOUSE MUSIC. It was a music that transformed the landscape of the city. Chicago is extremely segregated everyone lives in their enclave. Gangs were also very prevalent and House gave us a avenue for peace amongst some. House brought people from every part of the city to dance. When Hip Hop was transported from New York it did the same. Those people who grew up during the 80's and 90's in Chicago were transformed by House because it was for everyone. Azteca 500 fell in love with music at a young age. He would go to nightclubs and parties where music took on a journey and left his shirt sweaty by the end of the night. It was House, Dance Hall, Hip Hop, Afro Beats, Cumbria, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Rock en Español, Funk, Reggae, Reggaeton and Alternative music that were really present in his life. He recognizes the power that rhythm and melody have on our mind state and emotions. Music is very sublime and can motivate us to be productive, positive and focused. His mixes are mixed with an intention for the listener to reach their highest potential while grooving to good music.
