Invariably woven around gentle acoustic guitars and unassuming but essential drumlines, 23 year old, Azure’s songs are earthy and timeless, anchored by her rich, resonant voice. Born into a big, Australian-Lebanese family in a coastal town near Sydney, you can hear the musical influence of her childhood in every song.

Though she was close to her family and friends at home, Azure found herself connecting more to her surroundings than to the people. This sparked a life-long interest in nature and what it can teach her. “I’m definitely more drawn to music that I can really feel has a depth to it,” she says. “With my music, I kind of want people to just be able to feel things. So when something pulls my heart, that's what connects with me.”

She hopes to inspire that spark in others, stressing that everything she writes and creates comes from a place of real emotion. “I want everything I create to have an air of effortlessness to it,” she says. “Whatever the story I am telling, I hope for the person listening to receive those feelings with ease, as if they flow straight from my body to theirs, like a warm embrace for your heart.”

The lead single from her ‘Running with the Wolves’ EP is bathed in that warmth. Dizzy is half personal pep-talk, half ode to the possibilities of life and love. With its chest-thumping chorus, rich harmonies and gentle twinkles, there’s a hopeful feeling underpinning the song. Listening to it is like taking the first step on a life-changing journey
