The build up to Mark Henes’ debut album ‘Crystallized Reflections’ has been a journey across the scope of American music, filled with soaring anthems, somber reflections, and a lifetime’s worth of memorable melodies. His latest single, ‘Tennessee Hills,’ is a rollicking country free for all, laced with old time fiddles and nostalgic banjos.

“It may be nice if we took the car out for a ride,” Mark sings to open the song. What starts as a simple suggestion turns into something much more, as Henes reflects on home, life on the road, and what’s really important in life. While it’s a fitting ending to an ambitious album, it works terrifically on its own, as Henes brings out the pleasures of everyday life with his breezy melodic storytelling. As Henes’ artistry continues to blossom, songs like this are guaranteed to win him fans as he continues to build his career.
