Following extensive recent touring with Black Sabbath and other worldly ventures the UK’s best rock band, the legendary Uncle Acid are very pleased to announce the release of their new 7” single ‘Runaway Girls,’ quite possibly his catchiest tune yet.

La defunción prematura, la finalización abrupta de algo que pensábamos duradero o eterno, puede impactarnos, marcarnos para siempre. La prolongación de algo más allá de su expectativa de vida, también. Pero cuando la decisión de acabar con una vida (con un proyecto, con un sentimiento, con una costumbre, con lo que sea) es premeditada, las reacciones posibles son dos. O tratamos de comprender las razones o nos indignamos y nos amargamos para siempre.

Hubo una vez una banda llamada White Stripes, una banda que marcó una época, que estuvo liderada por un hombre prolífico, talentoso y responsable de dar nacimiento a varios de los mejores temas de los 00. Hubo. Un buen día, Jack y Meg White tomaron la decisión definitoria: matar a su primogénito. Después de más de una década, en febrero de este año, los White Stripes dejaron concientemente de tocar. Ante la noticia, muchos optaron por confiar en la capacidad creativa del tipo: sus bandas paralelas (Raconteurs, Dead Wheater), su participación en otros proyectos (Rome, con Daniel Luppi y Danger Mouse, por ejemplo), su tarea como productor (con un nombre basta: Wanda Jackson) y sus acciones mediante Third Man Records fueron consideradas suficientes para mantener vivo ese espíritu blanco. Otros, sin embargo, lloraron desconsoladamente.

Durante el día de ayer se dieron a conocer dos rarezas inéditas de la difunta banda. Dos covers: "Signed D.C" de Love (de su disco debut de 1966) y "I´ve Been Loving You Too Long" de Otis Redding. Y helos aquí. Todo termina, sí, pero la posibilidad de volver al recuerdo (como París, ptff), no se acaba nunca.
