All About :: The Art of Collage & Rhetorical Velocity

I am specifically interested in situations where composers anticipate and strategize future third-party remixing of their compositions as part of a larger and complex rhetorical strategy that plays out across physical and digital spaces. We find this type of thinking—the asking of “how might the text be rewritten?” and “why, where, and for whom might this text be rewritten?”—an increasingly important set of questions in a digital age characterized, for instance, by swift, easy, and deep web searching and by copying and pasting practices. 

COLLAGE ::  Artistic compositions of materials and objects pasted and/or sewn/woven over and through surfaces, often with unifying and/or juxtaposing structures, lines, colors, themes in order to create textured, alive, amplified spaces. 

SYNTHESIS (AKA Mashup): Creating Compelling Texts comprised of borrowed, reconstituted, and original material.

Chelsea Uniqorn is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and performer hailing from Portland OR, USA. A songwriter first and foremost, Ms. Uniqorn has shown her self to be a masterful inventor in the world of EDM, consistently pushing the boundaries of traditional songwriting, delivering unconventional beats and haunting synthetic landscapes in support of her evocative lyrics. The voice of the Theremin is a sort of beautiful longing, and haunting melancholy. Her music is loaded with dark pulsing rhythms, sharp edges, crisp ticks, intoxicated notes, wide tempo variation, and female voice.  Her use of low bass frequency satisfies an archaic tribal thirst forming the bones of her music. Synth and Theremin build the flesh, the veins and the organs, while ethereal vocals grow the skin, the face the eyes and lips. Her music is constantly undulating from slow, stripped and primal to pulsing high energy, wielding pure tone paired with full sound layers and textures.

I'm not a producer, a promoter, or a DJ. I do not host a blog, podcast, radio show, or YouTube channel.

What I do is dance daily with a few friends… we track our dancing using a fitness app (which could really use a dance culture, jus say'n). I do what I can to promote sets that move me, especially with catchy art. Anyone wishing to dance with us is welcome to join… any age… #heartsdance

I simply enjoy listening to music I've never heard before and I love to dance. Thus, I'm drawn to all types of dance music. It amazes me that the producer/computer collaboration is able to bring forth unique sounds that can be stunningly beautiful, insanely experimental or somewhere in between, or something entirely different.
