Currently residing in the North East, UK, Rory has been DJing for over 20 years. His early influences were the U.S. west coast House scene, in particular the early Naked Music vibe, Dubtribe Sound System, Miguel Migs, Rasoul, Andy Caldwell, JT Donaldson & Lance Desardi. 

More of Rory’s influences include the likes of Calum Walker, Brendan Costigane, Jimpster, Charles Webster, Vincenzo, DJ Ino, Seph, Steven Garcia, Schmoov and Crazy P....you can see it’s an eclectic bag. 

This distinctive sound and its influence is obvious when you hear Rory work a crowd in that individual and unique way that he has made his own by giving you that characteristic Cochrane deep house therapy. 

Rory has performed at some of the North East UK’s most prestigious and loved venues over the years, joints such as Stereo Bar, Tokyo Bar, To The Manor Born, The Loveboat, The Purple Onion, Cosmic Ballroom, Distrikt Bar & The Faversham down in Leeds to name a few.

His passion for Deep House music makes his sound very current. Rory is now running quality labels such as Deep Site Digital & Deep Site Vinylized along with Croatian DJ/producer and good friend Tom Krizic (DJ Funtom). Rory is also working on some interesting production projects of his own, which have meant remixes and a sweet original track with vocalist Sanna Hartfield 'Focus' on Addex’ label Limitation Music. Other remixes also on labels Oh! Stockholm, Deep Stitched..South Africa, The Purr Music, Sound Vessel Records, Be Adult Music, Personal Belongings, UM Records as well as Deep Site

Over the last few years he has played internationally in Croatia, South Africa, Ibiza, Prague and Sao Paulo, Brazil where Rory performed at world famous club 'D-Edge' club  for FREAK CHIC...and more recently back from Barcelona where he performed at the legendary Puro Beach and Tulum Mexico, where he opened Lost Tribes @ Vagalume as well as warming the dance floor for international artist ‘Los Cabra' @ Aguva Rooftop.

On his current solo career @awkasounds has been part of the crew that delivered the greatest electronic music carnival party ever seen in Rio - The “Bloco Ame”, also being a flashy name in Warung Closing Summer 2019, meeting Edu Schwartz, who would soon become his actual partner in starting his new label: @wordsnotenough

With undisputed skill and consistency in performances, @djedus earned great recognition in the brazilian electronic music scene, ensuring his presence at considerable events and festivals, as well as a desired residency at Warung Beach Club.
DJ, producer and now headlabel of @wordsnotenough, this year has started quite well, Edu has released in labels such as Circle of Life, Words Not Enough, The Purr, Roaming Leaves, Desert Hut and Keyfound Records.

Welcome back to our wonderful podcast series!

We are delighted to welcome super talented producer @mazayr on board with this uplifting and melodic musical journey.

Manchester (UK) based Mazayr has always felt a deep connection to music. Experimenting with electronic music for well over a decade, his passion for creativity stems from much earlier as a keen drummer in his youth. This love for rhythm naturally translated to dance music and birthed a tireless focus on finding his own sound as a music producer. Mazayr’s sound has arrived at a blend of emotional, uplifting and melancholic melodies, intertwined with punchy, solid grooves. Influences come from an eclectic mix of genres and as an artist his tracks are built to stand the test of time. His style has earned him debuts on labels such as The Purr, Cigarette Music and Canopy Sounds, with more exciting projects already in the pipeline. As a DJ, Mazayr has frequented various venues across Manchester, including Pangaea Festival and the infamous Sankeys nightclub. In 2019, he began hosting events and a mix series under the Right Frequency banner to showcase melodic house music.
