Dekmantel Soundsystem  Ray-Ban x Boiler Room 014 DJ set

After a bit of a production hiatus, label bosses, Frank&Tony return to Scissor and Thread with their strongest productions to date with Odes. Representative of their passion for vinyl collecting, the ep is the most dancefloor friendly to date. Leading the charge on A1, Procession takes no time demonstrating the duos keen ability to craft undeniable dancefloor vibes, with a hypnotic percussive groove sure to turn heads. The title track Odes, epitomizes the F&T sound with an early morning nostalgia and a nod to Detroit. B1, This Time, sees a collaboration with label mate and overall luminary, Darand Land, combining the dancefloor drive of the duos sound with the intricate melodies synonymous with Land's inimitable sound. Closing off the ep, Surface Prelude, sees a raw, but deep warehouse atmosphere reminiscent of early 90s house, but with an indelible Frank&Tony touch.

During this year's ADE, Ace & Tate Sounds broadcasted live on Red Light Radio with a dreamy line-up, and we've got the mixtapes to prove it. First up, Carista – the up and coming artist hailing from Utrecht, where nightlife is on the rise, with new exciting initiatives popping up like the club WAS.  In this recording, Carista shows us that she knows a whole lot about the origin of House music, switching effortlessly from one classic to another and serving us an incredible selection of warm, soulful tracks. Perugia, Italy-based producer and @Nicholas has somewhat quietly made a name for himself over the past 10 years. Known for his sample-laden sound, he's released music on labels such as Home Taping is Killing Music and Quintessentials. More recently he's had a mini-LP out on Church and an EP on Shall Not Fade. Never straying too far from what he's become known for, he's a master of putting out quality material that stays relevant no matter the year with his infectious use of jazzy samples.

We had a chat with the Italian beatsmith, focusing on some of his influences both past and present as well as the direction of his music recently and in the future. Find out more about Nicholas in the full interview below.

Christophe​ Salin​ is a music enthusiast - a producer, music collector, DJ and equipment lover based in Lübeck/Germany. Together with his wife, Daria Salin, he runs Salin Records​, as a platform for art and electronic music.

Christophe is a house music lover all through. Jazz and disco have a deep influence on his work.
Having his teens in the early 2000s he is also touched by the hypnotic-loop-orientated music from back in those days.

“You need to know the roots to know where to go” - Christophe took his time to know the roots of music and music production. He took this knowledge, mixed it up with his stories and emotions and created his versatile music styles. In 2018​ he released a three EP series​ (​“Sweet Memories EP”​, “Here And Now EP”​, “Will You Be There EP”) ​on Salin Records. This way he established the label and paved the way for future Salin Records artists. Christophe's tracks and mixes have the claim to take you on a journey and to get lost in the moment. As his tracks and mixes are honestly and from the bottom of his heart he is able to take you there. Christophe can’t imagine living without music and there are a lot of projects and ideas he’s working on as an artist and as a label head. Stay tuned!
