THE STORY:

i conceived the idea for this record late night early morning in the summer of 2023. i was living in my car and parked outside of a hotel, in northern virginia, trying to sleep the night in the parking lot.

i had the idea in my head and could not rest on it!

i waited all night until sunrise. as soon as possible i dipped over to the panera bread on duke st. at 6am so i could get on my laptop and create the beat. i was working with a guitar center employee plugg that let me record in the guitar center alexandria location during the time they were at work. 

i cranked until 1pm in my headphones while a lot of passer-by's onlooked.

headed back to my truck to clean up and play the beat to make sure i liked it.

walked in to the guitar center and cut my vocals with a seinheiser dynamic in the back studio practice room.

this song encomposses all of the anger and frustration i feel being a very capable BIPOC LGBTQ creator from the south. i have have experienced a lot of people in my area attempting to humiliate and discredit my identity and contributions like it isn't even painful for me to experience. some have gone on to copy from my likeness after attempting to destroy it.

the point is... cockroaches can survive anything.
