Red Stripe 🎸

This track was recorded in a hospital waiting room on a smartpad using headphones of course, and the now defunct Oscilab app. It was licensed for a project to "Aesthetica Magazine" May 20, 2016.

Turquoise Avenue (2015-2018) was a project recorded in waiting rooms in at least three different hospitals, usually wrapping up a quickly made ditty by the time the patient (my mother) completed her treatment. 
The project had over 108,000 listens and 56,000 downloads on Jamendo, before it was decided to remove the tracks from that platform. Now, the best of those tracks can be found here.

Packed Like Sardines

Old analog 16 track recording by The Sealers. Lots of Moog synths, fretless bass, clean 80's style guitars, and a cool vocal by Scott. One of my favorites from the bygone days. 

The Sealers - Mental Darts

2nd track from the first studio release from The Sealers, circa 1989. Lots of weird percussion going on here, we had the studio full of people with shakers, bells, even a big piece of stiff paper to make the earthquake noises. Really an exercise in foley and a lot of fun. The first part is an old 4 track tune that Scott did and then the Elephant Walk part is the studio portion. The themes of environmental conservation are repeated throughout a lot of The Sealers' tunes, particularly influenced by the hippie ethos and Magic Bill who joined the band later than this recording. Unlike the vast majority of The Sealers, this tune used a Yamaha DX7, an early digital FM synth instead of analog synths. FM synths in general make pretty fantastic bell sounds and this one is no exception.

4th tune on The Sealers first studio album. This was also the first tune where we took an old 4 track demo and tried to recreate it in the studio. I'll upload the old 4 track when I find it, the story is the same, the weirdness is on par, but it is also much different. We redid this song various ways over the years.

More pseudo new age psychedelia from the way back machine. Lots and lots of awesome Roland Juno 6 on this, some drums, even an old (new at the time) casio sk-1 toy sampler keyboard for the "magic". Enjoy, from 1989.

Influences ranging from early electronica, experimental, classical/baroque, new wave, new age, and progressive rock. I've recorded under numerous pseudonyms – Galaxy Soundwave Project, Hidden Temple of Saturn, BetwixtRx, Rhythmosis, and Melvin Mantis of Ataien, just to name a few.

My project, Turquoise Avenue (2015-2018), had 56,000+ downloads and double that number in listens on Jamendo. 

Did I mention this profile was once called Back Trax?  I ditched that moniker when I shifted gears. Back Trax  focused on creating hypnotic hip-hop instrumental backing tracks – those have since found a new home on another platform.
