To celebrate another year on earth, I’m happy to share a mix inspired by memory and deja-vu. A diary of sound painted from fragments of the past, imagined and remembered.

Home is a memory is a texture is an idea. It lingers here, where myth and the familiar blur into one—Circe’s home, too.

DJ Sodeyama’s been around since the 90s, a Tokyo-based whizz and DJ’s DJ, whose career has offered the type of sound many selectors would envy. It’s incredibly sharp, meandering along its intelligent thread in unexpected and high-minded ways. Since the early noughties he could add producer to his soubriquet too, flexing his minimal muscle with early releases, a steady stream of ensuing ventures further cementing his craft via Korean-based deep techno distributor Artscope, Dynamic Reflection, illegal alien, Daybreak and many more. He’s also explored adjacent genres and ventured into the world of house under his parallel alias The People In Fog. Pretty full plate, but the quality of his sound has suffered nothing for it. His techno is an expert tapestry of interlaced details and lingering moods, injected with raw feeling and undeniable skill. It darts from peak to peak, fusing frequencies riddled with forward-pitched elements and vivid effects, and forges a long-range feeling that abuts the realm of both man and machine. Thick and volatile techno that serves as proof that the genre can keep expanding outwards in fresh and surprising ways. Bassiani Podcast 260 moves the needle further, it's quintessential Sodeyama: vivid climbs and steep descents, warped vocal samples, brave and unbending beats for prime-time raving.

The fourteenth episode of our podcast series welcomes Paris-based DJ Maemm, co-founder of the collective "La Taquinerie" and a resident DJ at the Parisian club La Gare, Le Gore on Thursdays, with a 60-minute studio recorded mix.

Maemm shapes her sets with various atmospheres, aiming to create immersive journeys rooted in narrative.
Influenced by a hypnotic techno style with sometimes psychedelic overtones, she also draws inspiration from ambient music and more experimental genres. Her passion for exploring new sounds allows her to enrich her musical universe and remain in constant evolution. 
She has shared the stage with renowned artists such as DJ Nobu, GiGi FM, Zadig, or Kerrie and has recently performed at legendary Berghain.

The name behind the first anonymous Scordisci podcast is Zac Walls.

Zac is not only a gifted artist but also a core member of Scordisci. We were genuinely mesmerised when we first discovered his sound - textural, atmospheric, and deeply intentional.

Now based in London after growing up in Eora Sydney, Zac brings a unique perspective to his selections. Part storyteller, part sound sculptor.

It’s a true pleasure to have him with us, both behind the decks and within the collective.

Premiere: Ness "Labritex"- The Gods Planet & Liquid Drop Groove

For our 31st podcast, we're excited to share a part of a fantastic mix recently recorded at Lux Frágil in Lisbon by Portuguese DJ and producer Fresko (@fresk0).
