This summer I had a host of high profile UK & European Festivals and spent 3-4 weeks of solid studio time beforehand, tweaking and enhancing each & every track I played for maximum muscle. I re-edited and Revamped a total of 160 tracks during the process.

And then I went out and SMASHED it :)

Liquid drum and bass mix

This takes my 3 hour set and compresses it into a 2 hour fragmented interpretation.
Also aired on BBC RADIO 1 on September 1, 2012.

A series of fragmented audio edits based upon my live DJ set recordings. The sunrise sets at the Nutz camp have become something of an institution during my annual pilgrimages to Burning Man. 

As per usual they come after a number of days burnt out in the desert on sleepless nights, untold stimulants and with a mind blown from excess stimulation and inspired by being surrounded by hundreds of beautiful, passionate people. 

This year's set followed on from a fire &amp; brimstone throwdown at Opulent Temple and I loved every single minute of it, especially when the 40ft UFO-platform appeared to 'shade' the dancefloor from the heat of the morning, and when during my fifth Bloody Mary of the morning, the BBQ arrived to ply us all with a seemingly endless supply of breakfast goodies.

Around this point (2013) I'd really become pretty disenchanted with Breaks. For me the breakneck tempos, shouty MCs, Psy-Trance influences, jungle-bass coldness and EDM-infused sound-palettes had all left me cold ... the genre had taken a series of turns that I just didn't like.

This was a rebuttal to that - a return to simpler times, with slowed down tempos and a seriously deep Reece style bass.

Baitercell & Schumacher hail from Auckland, New Zealand. This track was originally a remix of Concorde Dawn so I am told but they ended up going in on it and making this monster. They didnt know who else to send it to as no one else was making tracks like this in 2003. We knew we had to remix it and it heralded a fresh chapter in the Passenger history. We were getting lots of demons now form all over the world. 3 years after we kicked off the bassline breaks thing, it had managed to get to producers around the planet and influenced them...

I remember the first time I played our remix at a Vinyl Touch in East London in November 2003 on dubplate. It got serious rewinds and lots of love.
