Jubilee has been staying up all night since as long as anyone can remember. She grew up in South Florida on the sounds of Miami bass, freestyle and Dirty South rap blasting from local radio stations like Power 96 and 99 Jamz. As a teen, she traveled to raves up and down the coast, absorbing Florida's uniquely regional palette of breaks, electro and drum 'n' bass. By the time she moved to New York City and started frequenting drum 'n' bass parties like Direct Drive and Konkrete Jungle, D&B was already becoming a gateway drug to a love of other UK underground styles such as grime, garage, dubstep and UK funky. 

You can hear the influence of all this music on Jubilee's debut album, 2016's After Hours – soaked in 808s and 909s, fog machines and laser rays, and containing a huge hit in the form of "Wine Up," a bubblin' bashment cut featuring Bronx dancehall sensation HoodCelebrityy. 

This year, she follows it up with her sophomore LP, another collection of late-night anthems and drum machine workouts. The album took three years to put together, as Jubilee burned the midnight oil in the studio in between headlining slots at European festivals, gigs from New Zealand to Brazil to Las Vegas and taking the stage alongside her Mixpak Records family at London's Red Bull Culture Clash and Notting Hill Carnival.

Percussion Lab is a collective of like-minded artists, DJs, record labels and selectors. Since 2002 we've been curating an exclusive collection of live and DJ sets from our favorite artists, DJs and record labels which we hope will give you a taste of the Percussion Lab community.

Percussion Lab began in the Summer of 2002 as a radio show on the independent upstate New York radio station, WVKR. Hosted by Praveen and featuring the talents of turntablists Killa K and Lord L, the fresh new show consisted of the illest Electronic and Underground Hip Hop music for a new kind of beat generation. A few years later, Percussion Lab relocated to New York City to throw a thriving series of events featuring artists like Flying Lotus, Jimmy Edgar, Machinedrum, Khonnor and more... As of August 2009, we've decided to open up our previously exclusive collection of live, DJ and curated mixes to you, the user and invite you to participate in this community.

Brooklyn based Praveen Sharma has always taken a genre absorbing, dancefloor-oriented approach to his output as Braille,  effortlessly floating through house, techno, melancholic ambient and UK Bass. His singles on European labels Rush Hour (“The Year 3000”) and Hotflush Recordings (“A Meaning”) were critically acclaimed and set the stage for his full length album debut on LA based label Friends of Friends (“Mute Swan”). With an ear for sentimental melodies and an unprecedented step into the vocal arena, Braille’s first full-length demonstrated his ability to step outside the dancefloor box. Braille’s return to Hotflush with “Stand Still” marks an infusion of color and optimism to his sound and sets the stage for a renewed focus on the dance.

Praveen Sharma has been making a diverse range of music from folk to juke since 2004. He has released as “Praveen” on Neo Ouija, Moodgadget and Supermartyr Records, “Praveen & Benoît” on Music Related, and alongside Machinedrum as one half of the Pitchfork “Best New Music” awarded “Sepalcure” on Hotflush Recordings.
