PREMIERE: Shaka - That Spot Under The Sun

To characterize a chameleon, “our heroine has known both holy & horrendous”. Her edits reveal the darker sides of the moon most of us think we don’t want to see. Her sets are a collage of her own self: dreamy, strangely healing and infused in mysticism.
Such is the complexity that completes C.love, who creates under the names Courtney Rexach, Zouyina, and Sisters of Z. 
C.love understands her music as an audio pathway to other realities. We see her as a guide, leading us through a gateway to other galaxies  to worlds that are tainted with natural elements and delightfully deranging sounds.
This next podcast in our Urban Cosmonaut Radio series was named “Le Chemin de l’Hiver”: inspired by the growing length of the dark night, the death and re­birth of the seasons and the fire that lit the mountain studio in which this mixtape was created.
A child of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, hailing from LA with roots in Mauguio, France, C.love has selected 25 tracks, none of whom were left untouched by the artist, all of whom reflect her unique flavour.
We leave you now with these words, written by the artist herself in a message to you, the listener:

Vor 3 Jahren hat sie das erste Mal bei unserem kleinen Festival „von Freunden für Freunde“ an den Turntables gestanden … seitdem ist sie fester Bestandteil und nicht nur hier. Mit ein paar Freunden veranstaltet sie im Münchner Club „Tante Erna“ die mittlerweile schon legendären tanz.t.raum Partys … mit einem sowas von tollem Publikum … man fühlt sich einfach wie zuhause.

In ihrem Sound ist Karin unglaublich facettenreich … von mega entspannten House bis zu wummernden Techno … bei Karin weiß man nie was einem erwartet … Schublade gibt’s nicht ;-)

Da sie nun für einen Monat in die Anden verschwindet … hat sie für uns ein kleines Fernweh-Tape eingespielt …

Slowing down since...

Rasmus Backhaus is a Copenhagen based dj, who has been around for quite a while now and he is one half  of the dj duo Angebot. 

Even though his main influence and inspiration comes from Berlin, he spent his first four years dj’ing in metropolitan Barcelona back in the year of 2001, playing venues such as Macarena microclub, Apolo, La Paloma and Le Kasbah. He moved back to Copenhagen in 2005 where he quickly became a strong contender among the Danish dj circuit, dj'ing mainly at Vega Nightclub and at the now closed and legendary open-air venue, Luftkastellet. 

In the summer of 2019 Backhaus hooked up with friend and colleague, Bow Miller, and together they created Angebot.
Angebot is the result of their common interest and passion for world music and deep-driving downtempo.

These days he wants to play less, but good so to speak. Choosing only venues with the soundsystem and good vibes that he likes, such as Werkstatt, Hangaren and his all time favourite bar in the centre of Copenhagen, Log Lady

When dj'ing, Backhaus is all about connecting with the crowd, so that he can do what he does best; playing nice and deep mid-tempo electronic music, that leaves you bouncing and filled with warmth.
