Upfront 450 EP is a hybrid/experimental blend traversing House/UKG and Speed-Garage genres, with a unique and enchanting touch. The project contains four tracks produced over the last few years by Erick Mizen fueled by his love for cheeky samples and chunky drums. Nothing but respect to those who've supported the dubs so far and to those who keep the underground going.

Birmingham and further up north always had a unique taste for different dance music compared to other parts of the UK. Most notably during the mid to late 90's there was a love for organ and piano house in amongst the garage house and rising of UK Garage scenes. This became more apparent to me when I started DJ'ing in clubs in the early 2000's as you would be inspired by DJ's who had been clubbing in those days and take reference of what style of tunes they had and learn from them. West End bar and Wobble were always names that were dropped. 

These tunes from the 90's were kept alive well into the 2000's as they were a foundation of what was later to come. The love of organs/pianos and the more moodier speed garage sound that Brummies loved and still love today merged and became what was known as Bassline House. Up north also played a big role in this, Sheffield most notably with their club Niche. 

Some of these tunes in this mix really remind me of some great years partying and dj'ing in Birmingham so let me take you back to the 90's and I hope you enjoy it. Drop a comment if you do ♥
