This dynamic track is in a way a little wink to my 🚘 that, given its robustness would be able to get me through the galaxies , but also a good opportunity to explain the reasons for my absence in recent times...
I do not remember exactly the date because of the shock, but I think it was at the beginning of this month of July 2019 that this incredible event occured ...
I was riding quietly in my old 406, one evening, on a small mountain road in my area, under a star-spangled sky when one of these stars suddenly began to get bigger. In order to avoid the accident, I stopped on the edge of the deserted road at this late hour. As soon as I looked up at the sky, a blinding glow swept over me. 🛸 I do not remember anything else until a voice whispered in my 👂 these few words: "We will help you" ... 👽 
I still do not know how they guessed that our planet is suffering. Maybe I spoke in my forgotten dreams? Unless they have the power to read our thoughts? Where did they take me with my car? What happened between the beginning of this month of July and today?
Will they bring us wisdom and peace on our beautiful planet that is imploding? Those beings I do not know anything about and even less their origin seem to have only good intentions because, not only did they accompany me home but they also gave me back my car with which I intend to travel a few hundred years. thousands of extra kilometers! ;)

Cette piste dynamique est en quelque sorte un petit clin d'oeil à ma bagnole qui, compte tenu de sa robustesse serait bien en mesure de me faire traverser les galaxies,mais c'est aussi une bonne opportunité pour vous expliquer les raisons de mon absence de ces derniers temps...
Je ne me souviens plus exactement de la date à cause du choc, mais je crois que c'était au début de ce mois de juillet 2019 que cet incroyable évènement est survenu...
Je roulais tranquillement dans ma vieille 406, un soir, sur une petite route de montagne de ma région, sous un ciel maculé d'étoiles lorsqu'une de ces étoiles s'est soudainement mise à grossir à vue d'oeil. Afin d'éviter l'accident, je m'arrêtais sur le bord de la route déserte à cette heure tardive. A peine je levais le nez vers le ciel qu'une lueur aveuglante me submergeais. Je ne me souviens de rien d'autre jusqu'à ce qu'une voix me souffle à l'oreille ces quelques mots: "Nous allons vous aider"...
Je ne sais toujours pas comment ils ont deviné que notre planète est en souffrance. Peut-être ai-je parlé dans mes rêves oubliés? A moins qu'ils n'aient le pouvoir de lire dans nos pensées? Où m'ont-ils emmené avec ma voiture? Que s'est-il donc passé entre le début de ce mois de juillet et et aujourd'hui?
Sauront-ils nous apporter sagesse et paix sur notre belle planète entrain d'imploser? Ces êtres dont je ne connais rien semblent n'avoir que de bonnes intentions car, non seulement ils m'ont raccompagné à la maison mais ils m'ont aussi rendu ma voiture avec laquelle je compte bien parcourir quelques centaines de milliers de kilomètres supplémentaires! ;)

The lyrics for this song are about the struggle to communicate with someone who was really important to me.  I wrote them awhile back, but I'm not a great singer, so I didn't record them.  Enter Dusboblaze, a most talented musician here on SoundCloud.  Check out his pages:  @dusboblaze  @user-430072946 or @dustyrhoads27   He has some great tracks; fantastic originals, great covers, real quality songs.  He started a new genre called DarkFolk.  We have gotten to know each other via SoundCloud and he offered to collaborate with me and we decided to do something with this song.  I sent him the file and the lyrics and he dubbed his vocals over it and sent it back.  For about a month, that original recording was posted.  It was fucking incredible, he sings with such soul and commitment!  The vocals were recorded pretty quiet though and weren’t able to adjust them so we decided to give it another take.  This time, he recorded his vocals onto a separate track that he then sent me and I plugged it right into the Garageband file.  This allowed me to put a bass line in it as well (as I had finally gotten a bass guitar in the meantime) and to mix the vocals better.  This second one came out incredible too.  But this is why you will see comments where people are suggesting we turn the vocals up and that they can't hear them very well.  We fixed that though.  Thank you, Dusboblaze.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Musically, this song starts out in a very loose F# Minor with a dip into D Lydian maybe and then goes into a solid F# Major for a bridge and eventually crescendos then breaks back into a more solid D Lydian progression(I think anyway, it sounds D Lydian) and riff that I think sounds gorgeous with the synth loop. I got lucky on that one as I confess I added the synth after and it just fit so perfect. It's easily my favorite part of this song, musically speaking.  I like the Lydian mode, it's happy, happier than Major even, I think. I consider this one of the most beautiful songs I've written.

Writer’s Block feat. Dusboblaze

This track took me a long time to figure out.  Some write themselves in a night, others over a few days.  This one took over a week to come to fruition.  I just kept plugging away and having faith that eventually I'd get the sound I was looking for.  It starts with an Am-Dm arpeggio followed up by Cadd9 and Cmaj.  It then blasts immediately (after a pause) into the core sound of the song, a driving progression of C - Cadd9 - D - Dsus4 - F - C.  The synth played with this progression doesn't sync up perfectly.  My timing may've been just a little different, but it still hums along for a nice ride.  After bowing back into the previous Am - Dm - C - Cadd9 - Am progression for a quick solo the song continues on with the core progression/synth again, followed up with a section that I switch mid-solo from C Pentatonic to G Pentatonic (basically the same notes, just a slightly different pattern.) This switch is preceded by a short pause in the percussion, which gives a signal to the ear that something might be changing.  The new progression with the G Pentatonic played over it is G - D - Dsus4 - C - Cadd9 - Am.  It probably isn't enough to change keys per se, it fits well enough in C Major albeit the Dmaj chord, but it gives the tone a slippery feel.

After another brief pause, we do change keys, I believe, into D Major, a whole step up from the previous key.  Whole-steps and fifths are much easier modulations in general, it seems.  Sometimes I will attempt different ones, like the D Minor to Eb Major in Metatron's Cube (half-steps can sound great, but linking progressions is more difficult.)  One of the more wild ones is in Dreamscape (E Minor to Ab Major.)  Anyhow, this new progression in D Major is played with a hybrid picking-strum, it is D - F#m - A - G  and with the weird strum and key change it kind of sounds like the song is slowing down, although the tempo does remain steady.

After this quick phrase is probably my favorite part of the song.  It is a psychedelic sounding synth backed with a D - Dm - Am - C - Cadd9 - C progression followed by a different synth against the same exact Am - Dm - C - Cadd9 - Am progression from the beginning of the song.  It sounds completely different in this context though.  The sound is this dreamy mixture that breaks up the driving beat perfectly, although the beat never really alters.  Pretty cool.  After this psychedelic section the song goes back into the "G Major" phrase for a second and then switches back into the core progression in C Major and the solo that switches from C to G Pentatonic is replayed before switching keys back to D major and wrapping up.
