BACK TO BASICS - Oldschool Techno Raves since 1992

With this mix I have tried to capture a mixture of rare white labels and unearthed gems, blended with some absolute classics and some lesser known treats. The era is 1991 - 1993, a defining era of some of the finest moments of house and rave. 

The title "Porky Prime Cuts" is inspired by the same tagline that was often found in the runout groove etchings on many of the rare and sought after white labels. It has taken many years of searching and quite a pretty penny to track down some of the brilliant tunes in this mix. 

This is all recorded directly off mostly minty vinyl. Enjoy.

This is the live recording of a truly unforgettable night at Up Yer Ronson's party at The Faversham on Friday 22nd August to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of it's residency at The Pleasure Rooms, Leeds. All four original Up Yer Ronson DJ's Andy Ward, Neil Metzner, Marshall and myself Paul Murray got together and played for the first time in over 17 years!! To say they all blew the roof off is an understatement. So go grab a beer a relive the night starting with the opening set by Andy Ward….enjoy! x

Als großer Fan von Torsten Fenslau habe ich diesen Mix angefertigt.

Bei diesem Set handelt es sich ausschließlich um Produktionen und Remixe von Torsten Fenslau oder Remixe seiner Produktionen, bis auf einen Remix eines Alex Butcher Tracks, um ein bisschen Licht in die Sache zu bringen.

Old house mixtape from about 1993 - absolutely loved this, but the tape itself was a battered recording of a 2nd hand recording and played over 1000x - so the sound quality was by now shocking. 
*** So I have endeavoured to remake it myself ***
It's taken me several years to try and find the names of all the tracks, hunt down ridiculously priced old vinyl copies on discogs, but it has been a labour of love. Some of the tracks I have been hunting on vinyl for 22 years!!
I've tried to stay absolutely true to the original, in terms of play order, points at which tracks got mixed in etc
Kudos to the original DJ, whoever he/she was. If I had to take a wild guess Daniel Davoli of Black Box (Ride on Time) fame - due to Italian House content and year of the mixtape. Others have said Vertigo or Hammy - tape originates in NW area where I used to live. Think Shelleys / Bowlers / Legends / Angels etc Any suggestions welcome.
This was played on the way to / back from many amazing nights in my car, as well as numerous house parties.
Lots of Italian influenced house tracks, lots from the disco magic label - some really rare. 
Thanks to all the people who have helped me ID some of the tracks - definitely not a task Shazam was up to!
