Although born in Fresno, California, it wasn’t until Jose Jimenez moved to Tacoma, Washington that he began exploring his musical talents. Heavily influenced by Breaking Benjamin and the Foo Fighters, and thoroughly motivated at the chance to resurrect Washington’s classic grunge sounds, Jose used his play-by-ear, write-from-the-soul skills to create and lead his alternative/rock band, Stealing Carolina. In 2004, at fourteen-years old, Jose received his first guitar. Locking himself in his room for hours upon days, Jimenez began his self-taught guitar lessons by studying tabs and listening to Breaking Benjamin’s 2004 album, “We are not alone.” It was this album that made Jose eager to turn his hobby into a career. Jose moved to Olympia, Washington in 2010, where he set out to study music and science at South Puget Sound Community College. There, he was introduced to Seattle's own, Nirvana. Jose began listening to, researching and playing the legendary band’s previous works in hopes of gaining new sounds and influence. It was during this time that Jose began recording “Somewhere” in his two-bedroom apartment studio. The album became a collection of original songs all written, composed and performed by its sole member and influenced by some of Rock’s leading musicians. The album dropped in January and is now available online on bandcamp.com.

monkey. is a Vienna/Berlin based label, publishing house and communication agency dealing with innovative music ranging from pop/rock to electronica/avantgarde jazz. 

We do have a long experience in A&R consulting, production and promotion - for Universal Music, Zomba, Warner and BMG Germany, for instance - but decided to run our own company to be able to serve dedicated music lovers (like ourselves) in a more creative and flexible way. 

Having started in 2000, monkey. cooperates with companies like P&G (Hugo Boss), Austria Tabakwerke (Nil) or BMW (Mini).

We prepare agencies, film/advertising producers and professionals in any branch with premium indie sounds at affordable prizes. 

Our artist roster consists of Bauchklang, Ernst Molden, Son Of The Velvet Rat, When The Music's Over and some more upcoming bands and projects.

Besides, we're exploring new ways of business - i.e., we installed Austrias first "CD on demand" store at the "Museums Quartier" in Vienna.

In the early 2010, two music fanatics decided to form an electric duo, bringing together their main influences: rock, electro and new wave. “The SlutGarden” was born and started producing dirty electro. Violent basslines, thrilling keyboards, twisted undertones, all of that surrounded by explosive beats. Nothing more was necessary to let them take off. Indeed, very quickly, The SlutGarden performed on french and international stages and festivals: Calvi on the Rocks festival, Crush (Batofar - Paris), Totally Insane (Portugal), Drop Dead Festival (Switzerland), Sumotronik Festival (Zenith Toulon)... and more, with talented international artists (Kavinsky, Popof, Mustard Pimp, Far Too Loud, Cyberpunkers, Son of Kick, Mixhell...)

Début 2010, deux fanatiques de musiques décident de créer un duo regroupant leurs principales influences: le rock, l’electro et la new wave. “The SlutGarden” voit alors le jour en proposant un son dirty electro à base de basslines violentes, de synthés électriques et de nappes malsaines, le tout sur un rythme effréné. Il n’en fallait pas plus pour que la formule fasse son effet et que le groupe commence à prendre son envol.
