”DITD (Dancer In The Dark)” is a headnodding monster of a tune,  bridging the gap between past and present, future x history, and between half timed beats & faster tempos with its clever percussive work. Chilling icy pads slowly evolve into warm string breakdowns and back again. A real exploration into the deeper side of modern dnb.

”Back To 33 (ft Shakk)” is an eerie darkside stepper. Analogue bass notes and oldskool pads bring the live kicks, snares and rides together into a most satisfying whole. Again, these are deep beats for the discerning junglist.

Albums like this don’t come along every day and whilst some artists now imitate with sights set firmly on commercial success only a select few can originate whilst continuing to cross boundaries so consistently.

Rounding off this 3 track EP - ‘Therapy’, weighs in with a dub laden groove, matched with a laid back mixture of acidic bass synths,  delay laden piano chops, wood-block hits and a rich textural background atmosphere.

SCAR: The collaboration between Survival and Script continues to bear fruit, as evidenced by these three carefully crafted slices of forward thinking Drum & Bass.

Palermo : Distorted basslines and strident kicks are the order of the day, adding spades of groove to the tune. Combined with some superbly worked samples and precise percussive elements, it's one of those tunes that simply gets you moving.

Over Easy: Drawing elements from a range of styles, this a real blockbuster of a tune. Thunderous bass rolls underneath a raft of other elements, ranging from high pitched trumpet sounds, to sultry vocals, combining effortlessly in a rolling maelstrom of sound.

Screen Test: A tune that demands attention. Aggressive drums crash out from the off, backed by mid range squelches and shimmys. A savage bass line accompanies the already impressive array of sound, to produce a sonorous masterclass in engineering.

With some of the genre’s most technically adept artists, the track-listing alone is enough to grab your attention. There is a high calibre of production standard present throughout the LP, audible from start to finish. 

Whether you become submerged by Freek’s rolling ‘Enamoured’, accompanied by the pristine vocals of Pia Thaleia, or captured by the apocalyptic sounds of Slang Banger’s ‘Slaughter House’, every taste is catered for. Program sets aside its older sister label Ram and creates a breathing space, allowing it to grow. The label is a heavyweight in its own right; this album is only reaffirms that fact. 

And such a range of versatility comes with names both old and new. L 33 returns to the imprint, with clashing bass conundrum ‘Manipulate’. A relatively new guy on the scene already proving to be quite a talent with a string of releases on labels such as Renegade Hardware, Rise Audio and Noisia's imprint Invisible, it was obvious to us that Signal had to develop something for the lucrative Binary series. Jon Signal delivers too, for a guy of only 16 years of age there's quite a career set ahead of him.

Soul Intent follows up his massively popular “Wanna Fight EP” (released on Klute’s infamous Commercial Suicide imprint) with 3 pieces of sci-fi infused excellence via his own label Lossless Music. 

“What I Wouldn’t Do” features the sublime vocal talents of the Swiss based songstress LaMeduza. Originally written against a slow stepping beat (original mix will be exclusively available via the Lossless Music bandcamp store) this amen rollout mix features a beautifully processed amen break and dream like atmospherics. A superb slice of futuristic jungle. 

LOSSDIGI001 marks the first digital only release on Lossless and Soul Intent had this to say  - “With vinyl production times being what they are, and people seeming to care less about the format of their music these days it seems an appropriate time to start some digital only releases. This enables us to release more regularly and I can start to feature other artists. To be clear though, Lossless is still very passionate about releasing on vinyl and we have lots of fantastic 12”s on the way.”

Born On Road return with another great FREE release, this time from dubwize breaks master Jinx In Dub! For this release Jinx In Dub teams up with MC Turner from Prague.

High and Low kicks off with a slow skank before the voice of Turner starts to creep into to range, everything cuts back before the bass drops and the journey begins. We’re treated to some amazing horns from the well known Sheffield reggae act Bison and a very dubby drop. As you would expect from Jinx In Dub he masters a great drum work out which would set off any dance floor off.

As if that wasn’t enough we have also commissioned two killer remixes from Jungle dons and some of Born On Road’s founders, Gold Dubs & Aries.

Gold Dubs drops a great 140BPM dance floor jungle rework with chopped up amens & chest shattering 808s while Aries ups the tempo to 175BPM and gives it his dubwise midas touch rounding this package off nicely!

Dutch producer Pythius' new EP 'New Order' bridges the gap between D&B and experimental electronica taking us back to a time when Bad Company were running the scene and Noisia were only just starting the rear their heads.

We have bagged the synthy, arpeggio heavy number 'Coruscant' and trust, it bangs. Combining retro synth sequences that wouldn’t sound out of place in Steven Sodenberg’s The Knick, with lush ambient pads, dub techno stabs and a knack for effective melodic progression (as well as the pre-requisite bassline sciene that comes with the job of releasing on Blackout), the man from Utrecht has created a number that will appeal to both the junglist massive as well as people who don’t usually dabble with the dark arts of 170bpm music.
