Summer

Kalione is the soul of our label and community — Beatriz , as well as its creator. The music that Kalione creates as a producer and DJ is always about something emotional, sublime and striving to the Creator. Her mixes and mixing style make you turn inside yourself and involves listeners to the dialogue with yourself. During the several years that we have been watching the ascent of this bright star, we have been discovering the amazing world of its multi-genre selection, which consists of an angelic break beat, ambient, pop music mashups and a guitar drone.

Her mixes were played on the airwaves of Bristol 1020.Radio and on Hong Kong Community Radio. For the collaborative broadcast with TESTFM Natasha has prepared an experimental set in which we hear a lot of new and multi-genre music, which we can describe as ethereal wave. Nerd Syndicate began as a small collective in early 2020. This project was originally conceived as a way to turn the spotlight on the outcast side of electronic music scene. Some of the artists, whose works are featured in this compilation, are making their debut here, while some are more established, but, nonetheless, share the same outsider vision as we do. More experienced artists might draw attention to the emerging ones. We lift each other up. 

It’s hard to pinpoint the exact genre spectrum of the release. This body of work is an infantile collection of broken sounds and split perception experiences. We are all drawn to reinventing syncopated riddims and finding pleasure in haunting soundscapes, detailed sound designs.  

After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, this compilation underwent a significant change. All the profits from this release will be donated to an NGO helping people in Ukraine. We also welcome you to donate to the organization directly.

A new mix for the calm series was prepared by the creator of a musical project from Moscow – eolet.

For a long time eolet had been playing the role of a listener and came to writing music only when he reached that very personal point of listening, realizing that that’s it, now I have something to say too. Today we will meet that listener, whose discoveries led him to start own music production.

You could hear his debut performance at Beatriz Gardens at last year's Signal Festival.
This summer, @bea3trizzz launched a label and on October 13 is going to release the first collaboration `Voices` betwen eolet and the creator of the previous calm series mix – @gassenengel.

«The mix invites the listener to take part in a journey of musical domains where the sound is formed of unclear structures and not contrasting outlines, where it tells about phenomena hidden from view in bright light, unfolding in a slow and continuous flow»

A new mix for our profound series was recorded by Leonid Kravchenko, a music observer, author of the telegram channel about strange music «What's That Noise?», a co-founder of the project «Tapehood», which popularizes cassette culture. He was one of the curators of the series of events «Sound Methods» at the Center of Contemporary Art named after. S. Kuryokhin. He gives lectures on music, performs with cassette and digital DJ sets, and organizes concerts and parties dedicated to underground music.

«In this mix, I collected both things that I’ve been listening to a lot lately, as well as that I haven’t gotten around to for a long time, and now I’ve finally found a reason. There are recordings from friends and musicians that I only recently learned about, an unrelease that is still awaiting its drop, as well as a track that I directly contributed to the creation of (my own recordings would not fit here either in terms of aesthetics or artistic value level). In this selection you can hear parts of piano, vocals, organ, guitar, theremin, Martenot waves and even a refrigerator. Stylistic reference points will be ambient, drone, electroacoustic and modern academic music. I wanted to make the mix meditative and peaceful, but at the same time full of interesting details - and this is what came out of it»
