Feeling it is Everything

Attache is my homage to one of the best song ever. Apex Twins Window Licker has stayed with me since its release in 1999. It's beautiful and chaotic in equal measure and was backed up with a video that'll creep you out even today. In all those years I never thought I'd be able to make music any where near this classic but here now in 2022 as I approached my 52nd birthday I'm giving it a go.

Spring has finally arrived, and nature is waking up from its winter slumber with vibrant blooms of flowers all around us. And what better way to celebrate the new season than with a fresh and soulful track from Badbelly, featuring the amazing voice of Jeremy Mbiba. Rapper Deep on the Mic tells the story of a boy who simply wanted to say "Hi Hello" to a stunning woman he spotted on a sunny spring day. With its catchy beat and heartfelt lyrics, this song is sure to give you the warmth of the sunshine on your skin. And if that's not enough, the track will also be accompanied by video, set to drop in the first week of April.

Growing is a reflection on Sly J's life journey and personal growth, following the loss of his father. The opening lines describe a period of isolation and pain as Sly J copes with his grief, turning to drugs for comfort. However, the song also highlights moments of joy and beauty, such as a trip to Australia and a memory of spending time with his father. As Sly J matures, he gains perspective on his life and the world around him, recognizing the importance of mental health and seeking to maximize his potential. The lyrics also touch on themes of loss, betrayal, and the challenges of navigating through life, but ultimately convey a sense of resilience and determination to succeed. Sly J's words suggest a deep appreciation for his father, his loved ones, his heritage, and his own unique journey.

Back in 2021 I created a track and as ever I got stuck for a song title. I looked up and on my wall was one of my favourite Rap songs ever, Passin Me By from The Pharcyde. So I took the name but as my track had a haunting female vocal I twisted it to Passing Me Bye.

Over the next 2 years or so I searched for the perfect vocalist for the track thinking it needed a Florence and the Machine type vocal but after a while I gave up as the track was strong enough to stand on its own and one day I'd give it a full release.  Then Deep on the Mic did an amazing job with Hi Hello so i challenged him to come up with something for Passing Me Bye.  I told him how the title came about and the tone of the song and how it could be interpreted as the classic "guy looking back" meme but this time it's his ex-girlfriend who caused loads of issues and he's looking back like "she keeps on passing me.... Bye!!". With that Deep went away for a few months only to come back with a change of tone for the song and something real deep and filled with raw emotion.  His performance had a simmering anger and yet also filled with confusion and love.  He said the music lit a fire inside of him and he just had to let it burn and burn it did.

So this is the latest and last song for a while from us.

I've been sitting on this song for a while because I thought it was
simply too good to share and I wanted it all for myself.  But the time
has come to let the rest of the world hear this beautiful song.

That's not something you hear often about a Rap song but as ever we try to bring something else to Rap and I've found some of the best
vocalists to help me do so. After featuring on Growing Newham's Sly J returns to show why he's one of the best out there with a range like no other.
