Containing five synthesiser-led pieces, ‘Loon’ was recorded in autumn 2014 across five days at Nils’s Durton Studio in Berlin, and continues on from the ambient sounds of ‘Stare’ but with the addition of more percussive elements and dub influences. For this new EP the duo wired an Oberheim 4 Voice and a Korg PS3100 to the mixing desk and performed live takes on both instruments. With all four hands on its pots, all mixes were recorded straight onto 2-track ½-inch tape.

Like on ‘Stare’, their first collaborative affair in 2012, they simply followed what was laying in front of them, and this time they were driven by some new synths, a kick drum and tape effects. Indulging in dub, the tracks where all performed rather than engineered, with Ólafur riding a few elements on faders and Nils bringing effects in and out. After running several mixes, they went for the five strongest moments from this session. The release was announced on a joint website www.arnaldsfrahm.com together with the launch of an intimate 45-minute studio film titled ‘Trance Frendz’, featuring another seven improvisations.

90`s, Steve got his first turntables at the age of 15.

So, he has been a DJ since the nineties, long before he even knew how to produce Music. His first releases have been underlined and heavily inspired by gigs and partys in great clubs in Europe. "Get Down" "Cellica" or "Safari der Bunten Voegel", released on Labels like VIVa Music,Groove On, Natural Rhythm,or Hoehenregler Records were just a few of them.

last Year Steve started a Collaboration with George Morel on his in Miami Based Label "Groove on" Records, the first Release "Another Story" was direct a Successfull Digital Release, the next Step is a Vinyl together with George.

In 2013 Steve founded his own Label "Valencia Music". The Label will be Managed by Marcus Fink from "Pampa" Records, this is the next Step in Steve`s Career!

Respected producer, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Elderbrook is set to round off the summer with his biggest body of original work to date; the 7 track ‘Talking’ EP, due for release on the 1st September on Kobalt. 

The deluxe EP is a culmination of the many styles that have influenced Alexander Kotz over the course of his career. Moving through various moods and subgenres, it still contains his inimitable vocals and overarching sense of feeling that have come to characterise the Elderbrook sound. 

The first single to come from the full-length production, ‘Woman’, is here! The laid back pace is matched with pitched-down chopped vocals, contrasting with the wistful lyrics. It’s produced by Craven J, but exemplifies Kotz’s unique approach to being a singer and a producer; “phonetics are as important as lyrics. My voice adds another percussive element to the sounds.”

The Bergamot's New Single - L.A. Out everywhere on June 28th.

So many great songs have been written about heading out west, not so many about leaving.

Somewhere between the lavish lives of the successful tycoon and the struggling artist, is the everyday story of someone packing up. Quietly moving on to the next phase of life. Getting away from the lure of dreams and distant hopes, and into the harsh reality: what comes after the dreams silently slip away? L.A. attempts to take a look at moving on with a dimly veiled eye of reality - with an ever persisting hope "I WANT to believe in you" but alas here we are.

The distorted howls call out to the listener, darkening an already bleak scenario. Almost as if a dream, being pulled from the light, falls into the depths of one's memories. The music lurches on with a tribal beating - simple yet pushing - as the kick drum distorts the mix. The fleet-fingered acoustic guitars wind in an element of natural beauty, yet arriving at an uncertain resolve. The song contains what we have come to know as our sonic signature - a harmonious cacophony of layered vocals over a minimal mix. Resolving into a tailspin of sounds including feedback looped pianos through guitar amps, guitars through synths, taking the listener to it's final resting spot as the harmonies begin their final chant "Goodbye L.A." - "I want to believe in you" - "Goodbye L.A." - "I want to believe in you". 

The song "L.A." was originally written in the key of C, but in the studio was dropped to D to help deliver more of a crooning timbre for the lead vocals. Overall, I hope the song speaks to the emotion of moving on. Whether it be love - or dreams - this song attempts to illustrate an emotional perspective where you have to let go, but hopefully, are not lost.
