"1949" is a dance track that blends elements of French touch and disco, two classic styles of electronic dance music that emerged in the 1990s and early 2000s. A collaboration by DND RECS vet Honey & Badger and OOTORO, two of the most prominent and innovative house music producers of this current generation.

The "French touch" influence can be heard in the track's use of funky basslines, disco-style percussion, and filtered samples, which hark back to the heyday of French house in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Meanwhile, the disco influence is evident in the use of soulful vocal samples, funky guitar licks, and the overall sense of groove and swing that pervades the track. Over this foundation, the track incorporates a range of synths and electronic instruments that create a lush, textured soundscape that is at once futuristic and nostalgic.

Honey & Badger and OOTORO are known for their ability to infuse classic sounds with contemporary energy and edge, and "1949" is a prime example of this approach.
